Possible PAM 372 acquisition

Hey guys,

I have the possibility of purchasing this 372 from a close friend. He used to wear it a lot, but now cant even remember when was the last time it saw some wristime, probably more than a year ago.

It is beat up, with a lot of scraches on the cristal and case, but I could get it in very favourable condition and price if I really intend to stay with it.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this model, since I am no Paneristi, although I do own some models: 273, 424 and 449, so this would be my first Luminor.

Also, I really dont like the original strap, definetely would change it, if you have some pictures do share i would appreciate.

Thanks.

(Sorry for the bad pictures)

372 is an iconic Pam if your wrist can take it.

Hate to say it, but has he ever cleaned that watch? I’d say that you should only buy it if it’s a nice discount from other watches for sale AND you actually want it. Don’t forget to factor in the cost to refinish it properly.

I don’t think the strap is an issue. You’ll end up getting lots of straps in no time. The scratches on the case and plexiglass just give the watch a nice/cool vintage patina.
Here is mine with buffalo black.

I would get a nice discount and probably pay it not at once, but in some months.

I wouldn`t refinish it for now.

Nice watch but you have to have wrist for it. Looks like you are trying to wear a wall clock on your wrist.

I think I'll keep it. Here's a picture after I cleaned it up:

Also, for those who might think it might be too big to my wrist, well... what can I do?
I wont let the size of my wrist be a limitation to the watches I can or cannot wear. If I like it I'll wear it.

Doing about the 372 and discovering it has a direct root to the Panerai 6152, looking almost identical to it made me want it even more.

Thanks for all the input.

It's a Panerai, it's SUPPOSED to be big. Don't listen to people who don't get Panerai.

One of my favourite PAMs and the last new PAM I bought (when first released). While I'd been through 47mm before, both Luminor and Radiomir, this was just too big for my wrist.

Whoa, looks great after cleaning. Big congrats!

+1 on wearing what you like and etc. Who cares what others think unless they'll buy for you. ;) (My mom taught me that lol)
