Does not make me nervous. In fact would make me feel more comfortable.
Also a good ice breaker as I would probably comment and talk watches and cars...
I honestly do not think most people notice. Watch guys will but we are a small percentage of the general public.

I'm always suspicious when hard-selling Omega salesmen are wearing Rolexes and vice versa... suddenly they turn into politicians, can be quite funny to watch.

Same here, but I can also respect it.

Went to a rolex AD a few times over the last two months. Salesman who usually wears a rolex was wearing a planet ocean.

I smiled and said "traitor"

He smiled back and said "don't tell my boss"

I have been driving Porsche 911's for thirty years and currently own three. I could care less about the watch a salesman sells. As a matter of fact, I could care less about the salesman.

The flight attendants (females) on Cathay were wearing Submariners.

I was wondering if Rolex were like Seiko's in HK or if they were fakes.

Does it makes you nervous when a Salesman you are working with wears a Rolex?

The most important thing for me when buying a car is that I get a good deal.

When I was buying a BMW i3, the sales guy I was working with beat the prices of all competitors the area by a longshot. He also happened to be wearing a flawless black-dialed 16520 Daytona. I complimented his watch, and he did mine. We chatted a bit about watches after the sale.

I sell RVs and have only ever had one customer compliment me on my watch. I will say I have seen some amazing pierces on some of my customers. Just last week I had a gentlemen with a original 1964 GMT he had bought brand new. I spotted it immediately. He also knew what he had and was very interesting to speak with.

No one even notices my watches. Don't think they will at work either.

My local BMW salespeople wear business casual clothes and are asshats. The MB sales force wear suits and are easy to deal with. Guess which one I drive.
As for the watch, or the suit, I couldn't care less as long as the big number on the sales slip comes down far enough and the salesman isn't an idiot.

I'm in wealth management and the OP concern has crossed my mind a few times. I came to the conclusion that your perceived value to the client/customer trumps what ever you're wearing.

BTW, when I bought my last car the sales person made mention that they were the largest volume Lexus dealership in N. America. Wonder if same?

You must be a hell of a sought after hairdresser with that collection!!!
No generalizing here but I haven't yet to see a hairdresser wearing a Patek.

Best,

For myself if I were to buy a car and the salesperson was wearing a Rolex, I wouldn't have any negative thoughts rather than "he must be good at what he does!"

If I'm meeting a client, I do wear my more subdued watch, in my case it's a Piaget polo 45 chrono. My other watch is a 2-tone bluesey 116613 and I just feel any gold on a luxury watch is just a bit flash in this or similar situations

If anything it lets me know they strive for success and appreciate nice things. I was once looking for a Leica at the san Francisco store and the gentleman helping me was wearing a coke bezel gmt, I mentioned that I liked his watch and showed him my sub. We had a nice short conversation about how he wears it everyday and has surfed and done many activities using it and that he loves the watch. It was a nice talk and he was very knowledgeable about his watch and the cameras he was selling, I later made a purchase from him. If anything him wearing a Rolex that he worked hard for and appreciated helped the sale.

I honestly believe 99% of people would not even notice the Rolex, and the 1% that do, are probably watch people and will appreciate your fine taste. Are you supposed to wear cheap suits too, or is Tom Ford still acceptable?

I want my financial fiduciary to be wearing a Rolex... And driving a Bentley. Shows me they are successful at what they do. However, you are in a rare spot, because if you wear a Timex and drive a Prius people will think you are financially responsible. Win-Win
