I'll be in Hong Kong this weekend.

What are some of the places do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance,

Any idea how many pieces are moved on a daily basis at one of these greys??
Really just curious. I assume turnover is high or they wouldn’t be able to hold on to all of those pieces

No idea, sorry. I don't follow the local Rolex market any more. For many years up to a couple of years ago I used to browse the main areas at least one full afternoon a month, often with other TRFers, but it got kind of boring (no current stock at ADs or over-inflated vintage/used prices) so I've moved on to collecting mostly vintage Japanese watches.

Sino Centre in Mong Kok has a few nice shops with some decent prices. Again, usually get around 10% off sticker price. They are also long standing shops so no need to worry about authenticity.

TST prices are definitely inflated compared to some other areas like Mong Kok due to high tourist population and to try sucker one. You can haggle alot on the sticker price, up to 20% off on the "hot" models.

Man, that 1655 looks nice. The prices of those watches are also identical in Macau. I guess it doesn't really matter to ADs whether watches go to grays as long as they're sold. Pretty similar concept to how the sneaker community is...

Quick question, is there tax in HK? Just thinking price wise, if there's no tax, some may be decent deals. But then again, some of them are really inflated so it doesn't matter. For example, the IWC seems like a decent deal when you convert it to US dollars. If I buy here in FL, USA, add another 6%-7% to the price.

No sales tax used to be a good thing for Rolex shoppers here, and Rolex even played this up in their advertising years ago, but with Globalisation and the Internet, they seem to have evened out prices around the world so there's not that much difference.

This is from the early 1980s...

I noticed a lot of people sporting watches other than the Apple Watch. From the airport to the hotel, I spotted about 5-10 Rolex, mostly from the age of 20-30 years old.

Gosh it’s so humid here.

Do che

They can horde all they want, no one buying at those high prices. I’ll wait it out

Here are some pics of Sino Center. I have doubt about some of them.

888 is the Rolex country code for Hong Kong, stamped on the warranty card. Generally HKers pay more for a watch from HK. Not sure why tbh since Rolex comes with an international warranty..

Watches from HK (888) will get priority and better service at the RSC in HK. No long lines to get things fixed. I’ve been told this by my cousin that lives in HK.

That 116505 looks like a 116595... It has to be a fake or aftermarket bezel right?

Hong Kong Watch-Hopping

Walked in about 5 Rolex stores with the same ole display. I stopped taking pics of the stores since they had one on each corner lol. One of them had a Milgaus and a yacht master. I was tempted to tell them ring it up so I can go home with something to remember my trip lol

Does ADs in Hong Kong bundle? I'm in the market for a DJ for my wife for her birthday, might as well take the opportunity.
