I´m lost, help... :-) LV vs LV
Hi guys,
I own couple of months ceramic submariner 116610LV (Hulk). I had also black one before. I would say that the quality is great, dial is something fascinating, especially how the colour is changing from the green to black, clasp, bracelet... wow.... BUT I am still not sure that the fat case and ceramic is the right way... Mind says: hey, it is the best watch that you have ever owned Heart says: that is not the real tool watch like older models, magic is gone... Unfortunately came an offer... trade 116610LV for NIB 16610LV Would you do it?

I prefer the 16610LV.
The ceramic bezel and bracelet are really nice to have but the green dial is a bit too much for me. But I wouldn't trade a 116610LV for one.

I like the 16610LV better too, but I wouldn't trade them equally. IMHO, if yours is close to BNIB some money should be transferred your way.

The black dial green bezel is a great combo. So for me it would be a yes, as long as you got money coming back your way...that saying I like the ceramic bezels also..... Would love to see a new version of the old classic. If I had the money I would buy the regular black dial sub and the hulk and switch the bezels...

I like both, but prefer this. The dial is stunning IMHO. Although I love the classic case I like the ceramic bezel. Get what you like and enjoy it.

If you get a BNIB with stickers on it 16610 LV the trade would be close. Depends on the serial number. I would do it. The LV is only going to appreciate in value.

Hard choice, I think 116610lv is beautiful, but the real tool watch is the classic black 16610, you just need to find a used one and to keep both!

Sounds like you're ready to let it go.
Personal preference. Try to get a a little cash coming back to you if possible. |

The 116610LV comes across as dressy to me. Its predecessor is more tool in my opinion.

Unless you particularly need to have a 16610LV that is NIB, I wouldn't do it.
I would keep the ceramic LV and pick up a 16610LV when funds allow. |

I think you will regret it as the green dial is something you really like.

Only problem is the higher price due to plastic stickers still on, because that makes also the value (?) for collectors which buy watch es to safe. But I would wear it.

Keep the hulk! Are you really using your 8000+dollar watch for a Tool. I would never trade new sub for old!

Don't think it's a lousy deal at all. You are close in value for these two as you have described them, and you prefer one over the other so...do it!

For me, I dislike the 'super' case and the green face... If I had an LVC I would have to change the dial to black... and with my 16610LV which I love, I am getting a new band for it (solid link GMT2C) because the tuna bands are meh.

I would not trade…I believe that the new Sub C is a very nice progression that combines the classic looks of the models that came before it, but with a few significant differences that I happen to prefer, i.e., the Glidelock clasp, solid center links and the ceramic insert. I also LOVE the complexity of the sunburst green dial and the way it changes in different lighting conditions.
Which model you prefer is personal preference, but I like the changes, so I would never make that trade.

I think the ceramic bezel is more of a liability than a plus. Classics have EARNED the reputation of classic for a good reason.

To echo everyone else, I wouldn't do a straight trade LVC -> BNIB LV- especially if you are going to wear it.

I've got to agree. And that doesn't even factor in that I strongly prefer the 16610LV over the Hulk. Also, if you don't really love it now, you'll only like it less with time. I once bought a GMT 1675 Rootbeer. I thought it'd "grow" on me. It didn't and is the only Rolex I've ever sold or traded.

You can do this with the classic LV..
I love how my LV looks in this guise..Nato with blackened metal hardware and black bezel insert..
