I’m here now. Wear the watch. Every other person here has a Rolex. If you’re on resort you’re good. I left 2 rolexes in safes here while out and about and they were fine.

If you have to ask, then probably its best not to bring. The anxiety will affect your vacation.

I would imagine that the hundred or so other guests at this 5-star property always own & are wearing their Rolexes. I doubt there'd be much of an issue. I went to Nassau & while I did not own my DJ at the time, I didn't feel unsafe. (Also a native NYer, so what I feel is unsafe might be different than you.) Here's a fun(ny) idea: Gather all of the other hotel guests wearing their Rolexes & go out together. They can't mug you all! Have an impromptu TRF GTG!

I bought one in Atlantis and did not hesitate to enjoy it while there on a bachelor party bouncing around the island. You will see plenty (depending where you are). Use same situational awareness and common sense you would anywhere. If you hit a remote part of island or plan to drink heavily, prob better not not display wealth. Otherwise, enjoy your watch!

Anyone who travels with expensive jewelry, watches included, should have air tight insurance. Then travel away. The only real concern would be places where you may be exposed to physical harm - some don't wait for you to take the watch off.

Just remember, if you're concerned about your watch, you should be concerned by your wallet even more as they can get you're wallet off you and you'll never notice until you try to pay for dinner.

Ive always brought my Rolex when traveling to Nassau and never worried about it. I would leave it in the room safe when not on my wrist, if I left the resort on a tour.

If your are worried about putting it the safe you could hide it in the one place you know you could hide something. But the last person I heard who did that died of dysentery.

Is it not common for you guys over the pond to insure your watches?

Adding it to a home insurance policy in the UK comes out at c0.5% of the replacement value.

I always take a good watch with for nice dinners, etc. Hotel safe is your peace of miond and worse case you should have insured if it gets stolen.

It's probably safer with you than leaving it in an empty house.

There is always a chance of theft, whether your watch is on your wrist, at home or in a hotel room.

Proper insurance coverage will give you considerable peace of mind whether traveling or at home. Your watch, and most jewelry, are probably already covered for loss due to theft by your homeowners policy. You can add an inexpensive rider to cover the loss of the watch under any circumstances, such as if it falls off while you're swimming in the Caribbean.

Take the watch (or watches) with you - just hedge your bets with the right insurance.

Insure it, wear it, don’t be a foolish tourist, keep your wit about you as when traveling anywhere.

Took mine to Punta Cana to create great memories. I'd also take it to the Bahamas, point being that in general if it's safe for my body then my watch will be alright.

No disrespect, but did this question really need asking?

You know you will be fine within the confines of a 5* complex with its perimeter fencing and 24/7 security.

Venturing out unaccompanied into a strange town you don’t know wearing multiple $000’s of Rolex is a whole different ball game & just inviting trouble imho.

The best place for a watch is on your wrist! Take it and enjoy it, but do not leave it anywhere. I have been on vacation and seen women leave their Day-Dates with a friend, scared to take it into the water. Drives me nuts, I am dying to say that watch can handle it!

As with everything, it depends on exact circumstances.

I took a cruise last summer.....Rolex went with me in St. Croix everywhere, diving, walking the town, ect.....stayed in the safe for Bahamas and Jamaica. Always worn on the ship.

How is your watch going to feel if it finds out you went to the Bahamas and did not take it along?

I'd hate to own an angry watch. It may decide to start running backwards or something.

You can get robbed in any city. In fact, your home city likely has more violent crime than Nassau.

Just have an insurance rider on your home/renters insurance. It will cover theft. No point in owning a watch if you are afraid to wear it.
