I travel with a GS not a Rolex. I hate dumping valuable things in a bin on a conveyor belt at the airport.

Wore my Datejust to Vegas a few weeks ago. Pragmatic me told myself to wear my Apple Watch, but I planned on doing some heavy window shopping to figure out what I might like next and figured, if people on a watch forum generally hate it, nobody in retail would take me seriously wearing it

Side note- Happy to report that of all the shops I visited, I didn’t have a single negative experience. Alan at the Tourbillon Boutique was awesome and showed me a ton of watches. Because of him, something from Glashütte Original is a strong contender for my next piece. The manager of the JLC boutique was also great- friendly, very knowledgeable of brand history, and genuinely liked watches.

Next month, Hong Kong and Singapore.

July, San Francisco and Vancouver.

Will be leaving them at home during a month long journey in Argentina and Chile in November.

I have previously worn them to various cities in Europe and on dive trips in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Nope! TSA has not approved.

However I never take it off and have never had a problem. I travel non-stop on business/vacation. Worst case they scan your wrist. No bins.

In the US, TSA does not ever require you to remove your watch, but basically every foreign country airport has required me to remove mine.

To the OP: I travel internationally several times a year, and bring my batman everywhere. If I'm going to be somewhere really sketch, I might throw it in the safe and pull out a beater. Sometimes, that will be my 5 digit sub on a NATO strap... if I'm traveling somewhere really worrisome, I've got an SKX007 I'll toss on the wrist.

TSA confirmed to me that you don’t need to remove your watch when going through the body scanner. However, if asked to go through the metal detector instead (as I was recently), all metal should be removed.

I’ve resorted to putting my watch in a travel case and storing it inside my carryon backpack.

So far, the Rolexes have done business meetings in Edinburgh and Paris, and skiing in Slovenia.

I plan to pick up a new Panerai (Pam 797) at the airport on my way to Holland next month, so won’t be taking a watch with me on that occasion.

In June, the Rolexes are going to Vegas and in July, I am taking all of my watches as we explore Southwest China, Laos and Burma.

Finally, I’ll be taking all of them to Nigeria in December.

I can’t wait.

In US airports, don't ask about your watch when confronted with a metal detector. Walk straight through with confidence!

Wore my GMT in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore, after all its made for different time zones. Only two people noticed it, guy in a pawn shop who had one for sale £17K crazy price, and a chap on my cruise ship asked to look at it, as he was surprised to meet someone who actually bought it to wear and not just profit from.
