I can't think of anything the Sub does not go with that an Explorer would. At least nothing I'd wear. lol

Actually, a Sub would not go with a tuxedo, but nor would an Explorer. Nothing goes with black tie. imo

The explorer definitely would go closer to any Submariner in a formal event due to it being more versatile and lending itself to being a sports/dress watch. A diver can NEVER be that.

Anything in stainless steel.

Or a Day-Date.

I think the OP39 (my only Rolex, so take that grain of salt) is pretty much a perfect watch.

Whatever Rolex I am wearing for that day, is the best everyday Rolex for that day.

Submariner (SS black dial) is the all time greatest every day Rolex. Nothing compares it wears good with literally anything from a suit to a construction site uniform

(-) Sub. Classic, rugged, pairs with everything. It’s the icon for a reason. Glide lock makes it a perfect fit on any wrist.
(-) Explorer. Simple three hander that easily fits into board shorts or the board room. Rugged as well and flies under the radar. Comes with EZ link.
(-) OP39. It’s a really stunning piece that can dress up or down. Easy to read and has a classy datejust look with an entry level price tag. No EZ link though.
(-) Datejust. The 36 or 41 are both winners. Also an icon for a reason, it’s a classic and timeless look. Get a fluted bezel and oyster bracelet for a one and only. It looks great year round and is a perfect daily. Comes with EZ link.

Never heard anyone say this before to be honest. (probably been said on these forums but I personally haven't seen it until now)

What Rolex do you think looks good with a suit if you don't mind me asking?

datejust/daydate or at least something with PCLs

don't get me wrong, i think it looks fine with business casual and everything else, but just not with a suit

75 years ago, your opinion would be the norm. Sport watches have simply just won the long style war.

I think the sub in a suit/tux is now an absolute classic - and we really do have the Bond franchise to thank for that.

to the OP: if I was forced to choose one daily, it would be an easy decision for me. The batman is closest to my heart and does go with just about everything.
