Does Anyone Prefer Polished Center Links (PCLs)

So lots of forum members dislike them and choose to brush over them. Who prefers them? I am actually considering having them added from LAWW to my OP39 white dial (quoted $150 to do it) as I wear suits daily and like the shinier look. I know they scratch easier and all of that.

I’m sure this is blasphemy to be considering

<incoming unpopular opinion>
I do! I bought a 116400GV Milgauss this year and the PCLs add just the right amount of bling for my tastes.

On TT Oyster bracelets polished center pieces are standard. I like them. Not sure about SS.

I will match the polished bezel of the OP39 perfectly but I would not do it.

I love PCLs, but I don't think I'd want them on my OP39, which I use for the gym, pool, hiking, etc. I do all that stuff with my YM and DJ too, but the OP would seem over dressed with PCLs.

That said, why not give it a shot? It can always be re-brushed.

I love them on my BLNR but would not consider polishing them on my OP

I think it’ll look nice on the OP, and I’ve often wondered why they don’t do this from factory on that reference.

I do. Have both the GMT and the DJ 41 with polished center links. Two of my favorites. I much prefer PCL’s over brushed which is one of the main reasons I bought the GMT over the Sub.

I like the looks of PCL. I think a lot of people worry about the scratches, me included in the very beginning. Once I learned to chill out and that there is Cape Code clothe, I don't mind the scratches as much.

Depends on the watch. I like the both equally. Whichever aesthetically looks better on that particular model I tend to go in that direction. However, I personally wouldn’t modify it one way or the other.

I love the PCL on my gold sub. Or it is rather a hate/love relationship, one has to remember that the scratches isn't visible a few meters away.

Absolutely, love the PCLs. The give such a nice luxury look to a watch, IMO great to make the YM and GMT 'dressy' when necessary.

I think it would look nice on an OP but I also would not modify a Rolex outside of factory specs.

I think PCL's are great on TT watches of any type, and SS dress watches. I'm not a fan on SS sports watches.

It looks good when it comes that way. I saw a 14060 listed last year where the previous owner had polished the links down the middle and personally was not a fan of that look.

Of course, it depends on the watch. I love PCLs and none of mine are that badly scratched after several years.

Depends on the watch, but I don’t have any Rolex watches with fully brushed bracelets still in the collection.

On the right watch I definitely prefer PCLs.

For my 0.02 I think they absolutely suit TT watches better and the BNLR, much more than the jubilee replacement imo.

I prefer them over brushed for the extra bling, after all a watch is jewellery

Perhaps it is time that the Rolex tool watch that climbed Everest got spiffed up a bit?
