Actual Golfers?

If you are an actual golfer, would you mind letting me know what part of the world you are located in?

Don't get too excited, this isn't AP asking, this is me personally trying to gauge the true extent of golfers here in our little AP community.

If you are 'shy' about divulging your location then 'not in the UK' as an answer is fine by me.

Thanks.

Gary.

I’m in the north of England but I’m not sure anyone around here would qualify as an ‘actual golfer’.

I’ve just taken golf up in the summer so currently I’m one level worse than bad. I’m two miles from RND which is supposed to be the oldest course in England.

Always watched golf on tv since Faldo 89 at the Masters and went to the last Ryder Cup which was incredible so thought it was about time I gave it a go.

In the UK. South East.

Member of two courses - one mediocre and 5 mins walk from my house and the other rather nice about 40 minute drive (near the Windsor area).

During 2020 the only that has kept me sane was playing 9 holes most nights in the evening through till late summer. Would just finish my office work and walk to the course and tee it up at around 6pm. Home for dinner by 7.45pm. Loved it.

I’m not in the AP family but I play as much as I can (New Orleans). Playing TPC Louisiana on Wednesday for the first time in a while. Good thing about New Orleans is we have year-round golf!

Hey Gary. As you know, I’m an actual golfer (although not great!). 13 handicap with a swing that would give Butch nightmares!

Gloucestershire.

When I said ‘actual’ there was no undertone of standard implied. There’s no prize for ‘best’ golfer here or indeed worst, as there’s no prize at all :)

Well if you suddenly feel the need to offer a prize, maybe something like an actual AP and it’s for the worst golfer, let me know

Not for me, too big and too uncomfortable. I do chip a few balls every now and then, but that's it.

I’ve dabbled a little, albeit some years since I’ve played a full round.

Left my clubs in Germany too when I came back the first time round in a hurry, for all I know they are still in the attic of my old apartment with the rest of my stuff I had to leave before going.

This is the consequence of moving country with very short notice.

Now back home in the East of England.

“Golfer”, yes. There is at least one good looking shot a round! I’m in North Carolina with quite a few course in the area.

I used to golf frequently but it’s one of those things I unfortunately gave up over time. I’d love to get back into it...especially if it was something “fun” like an AP event or something for charity.

US here...

I play at least 2x/week in Westchester County, NY. Handicap doesn’t reflect that, though.

Singapore. Social/business type.
Live right next to a course but can go months without getting a round.
