26400IO I got the call, but...
I have been on the list for a Royal Oak Offshore 44 in Titanium with the Ceramic bezel and I got the call today that the watch is ready to be picked up. On the one hand I am very excited, on the other I am not sure anymore because of the new 43mm ROO which has just been announced. I am very keen on the new movement and the exchangeable straps but not sure how likely it is for me to get one of those if I pass on the 44mm. Any views / suggestions?

I’d skip. That movement is a piece of junk; 2 watches have failed on me personally. Plus 44M is massive by any scale. Not sure how of a difference the 1mm would make.
Wait for the new ones. |

Also, that watch doesn’t really need a ‘call’. Your AD/boutique is playing you.

The watch is pretty nice (owned it before) but I personally would ask for a 43mm instead.

If you’re going after the 44 look I would ask for the 43....but if it’s the 42 then there’s enough stylistic difference to separate the 42/43 especially with the Arabic numerals. Anyways all good piece, and I believe FHB mentioned that the quick change strap system will be backwards compatible with the older offshores (but not sure which model)

I don’t feel the 43mm will be hard to get medium term after any VIP’s dip first.
At that price point, I think the new meteorite Daytona’s run laps around ROO, just my humble and very biased opinion over the next 2 years. |

43mm looks odd to me. I would go for the 44mm. It looks amazing in person! you won't regret it. it is getting harder to find one anyways.

It's more than likely that the 43mm is the replacement for the 44mm (not definite, but highly likely), if that's the case then the 43mm isn't going to be scarce, at least not in 'normal' spec. If the 44mm is now retired then I'd really expect the last of the 44mm's to be sought after, it might take a little time for the market to recognise that, but that's my thinking.
Thus, if you like the 44mm that you've been offered then buy it. |

I quite like the 44mm with the striking blue features. I will take a look at the Boutique and then decide on the spot.

The Daytona is a great looking watch but it’s quite small for anyone who is used to wearing an Offshore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd just go for which model suits you best.

I would wait it out, I just got the ghost recently, absolutely love it. But when I saw the 43 mm TI ceramic.... kinda give me a little buyer’s remorse.

Thanks for all the guidance, I have asked the boutique to update my „wishlist“ to the 43mm.
I know this will probably be a long wait, but before I spend a significant amount of money, I rather go for the latest version. Whether the new in-house movement will have any long term issues is probably too early to tell (unless there is any experience from the Code 11.59 owners). |

Biased since having 44mm ceramic but prefer the dial layout of 44mm. It always had something special for me so dont plan to change it. No issues for past 2 years...
In house 43mm with slimmer case and unconventional dial layout would be hard to miss but... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

personally prefer the new 43's, a lot of it is due to the strap
