Icon5 Requesting help identifying the correct box for 1807 DD Bark 1974

Hi. I've come into a 1974 President Day-Date 1803/1807 Bark Ref 1556 with papers (no box) & original bark bracelet. The case is 1807 the case back is 1803.

Story of two dials... The original owner had some vision issues and decided that a higher contrast dial suited him better so he had the original swapped out but fortunately kept it with the watch. This watch has 2 dials, the original and a black dial to better suit his physical needs.

This is a really cool watch and has put me on a quest to complete the set by finding a period and reference correct box. It has been a huge challenge to identify the right box reference that corresponds to this timepiece. I have searched the internet, Rolex Forums, eBay, auction sites trying to find an actual example of a complete set to reference but to no avail. I am turning to the forum to see if anyone here might point me in the right direction or has any experience or info they can share.

Always thought the gold President came with an all wooden box. Check out reference 71.00.02. You should be able to find on eBay. Good luck.

I am not into boxes, but another detail...

This champagne dial is a Quickset dial. For 5 digit DayDate. Not from this watch. A 18XX Day Date needs a "PiePan" -dial.

What end links are correct for this model? It looks to me like a lot of them don't fully fit against the case.

This is the box my fathers 1607 bark gold DJ came with in 1974, I do not know if there were an even larger box for the DD back then.

Thanks for the heads up! Yes, that makes sense. The black dial is pie pan and the champaign is flat. :( Perhaps there is a 5 digit day-date floating around out there with an extra pie-pan dial. ;P

Thanks for the info! Being from the same year I wonder if they didn't use the same box for 1607 and 1807...
