Weight differences (4 links out on each version). Would be interesting to see weight comparison to standard 15400 variants to see which weighs more (i assume 15407 by a few grams due to a 0.1mm case size thickness increase)

AP has also finally changed the size of the outer box as it was using a makeshift version to fit the old very thick warranty/manual booklet which sat under the watch box. The box as seen is now considerbly thinner (approx by 1.25 inch in height) The actual watch box that the watch sits in is the same size. I believe this was introduced in August onwards.

☠️ Official Openworked Appreciation Thread ☠️

^^^ Very nice

Which gets the most wear?

When I was visiting AP last week and while being shown around the Renaud & Papi factory Giulio placed my 407 under a microscope (sadly no cameras allowed) the level of finishing is better then my macro shots could ever convey.

Any excuse for more pics

They are extremely similar. I really think it comes down to personal metal preference. Having spent time with them both in direct sunlight and low lighting, i believe the openworked movement fits/suits the metal type the exact same.

If i could say which is better by percentage, id say the steel is better by 10% and only because the royal oak finishing shows better on steel than rose gold. But then on the other hand, the rose gold with openworked gives a whole different feeling and obviously more eye catching. It was too tough of a choice, so why not own both?

The steel with the thicker bracelet (as gold variant links as they go down closer to the deployment clasp get thinner) feels more durable and less worry about scratches and surrounding, so in this battle it wins and will wear it more.

Good insight, I handled the OR a few times and passed on it as I knew for me I feel gold doesn’t suit me, but it doesn’t stop me admiring gold pieces (maybe one day)

Understand your comment on movement to case contrast on the OR, not sure why but feel they managed it better on the 26518OR but then that large gap on the 6 o’clock side makes it look a little cramped and takes away some of the beauty of the openworked movement.

Either way they are both amazing

Will be interesting to see but im not going to be suprised it being a 100 or less production and a price upwards from Ł110,000.

The previous 39mm with the transparant date wheel disc would be good to see have a comeback but they would need to ensure it does not encroach over the movement but possible with the case size being 41mm now. Dare i say it but if they develop a similar but a refined version setup to the Hublot unico sapphire it would help with legibility with making it work without hurting the aesthetics of the 3132.

But with that addition, you might lose the rose gold hour marker indicators (unless they set them behind the date disk and making both discs transparent but might be too busy to look at) but at least it still will have seconds hand which the 39mm did not. Using the bezel screws as indicators, you would approximately know the hour. Just a theory! im no watchdesigner

Interesting thoughts and yes I’m also fond of the sapphire dialed PC’s they also did a lovely GC with one.

Also after meeting Giulio I’ve been looking at the classic 25820SP which was an earlier SS/Pt mix a bit like our modern IP config, it did look good on his wrist plus I believe they did a small run of sapphire dialed versions.
