Battle of the Grey Offshores

Grey Ghost vs Ti44. What's your pick?

Price is close. Ghost is more novel (newer) while Ti44 has been around for a while.

A light weight ROO holds appeal to me as I want something that is attractive and comfy. I wasn't convinced by what I saw in the boutique for Ti44 but browsing recent pics on IG reveal another visual dimension of the watch such as the above.

Talking about lighting, concept like AP house makes a lot of senses as we can try out the watches in an informal comfortable setting with natural lighting. Boutique lighting usually sucks big time with glaring spot lights. They are only great for show-casing bling watches.

still 44 for me if you can swing it ! The 44Ti is really one of the 44 ROO i really did considered as it's very light and comfortable despite the size being a bit too big for my wrist.

44 - prefer the red touches on the chronograph hands, contrasting bezel, pushers, case size, baton markers, darker tachy ring. Pretty much everything.

My heart wants the 44. The biggest thing is the baton markers. I also prefer the darker tachy ring but the lighter isn’t a deal breaker. On the 42 the numbers crowd the dial to me and I like the bezel colour here but some pics t seem plasticy. Ultimately I prefer the 42’s size, I think there is too much extra material on the pusher surrounds on the 44. I also much prefer the black ceramic bezel on the 44. Still happy bought that both are in titanium and have ceramic bezels most of all!

I’d hold off, a movement refresh is way past due. That modular chrono has been a headache for my 42 ROO.

I think it will be a long long wait before an in-house reaches this line.

For me the 44 all day unless your wrist is under 7” then I think the 42 makes sense. Both are super cool and easy to wear. Personally I favor the design of the 44 over the 42 across the board. I use to have the 44 ti and now have the ceramic. I really like the ceramic but objectively I think the ti might be more versatile.

Stand alone aesthetics - it takes a lot to beat the 44. The pusher style elevates it to another level vs. the 42 ROOCs

That said, if one doesn’t have the wrist circumference to carry it off then the 42milli is the (only) way to go.

42 for me.
And much prefer the traditional type button pushers.
Is that bezel ceramic?

Ps the fit looks great as well.

I prefer the look of the pushers on the 44 but I like the numbers on the 42 more than the batons. Between these two I'm going with the Ghost!

TI44 - I find the dial on the ghost to be a bit monotone.

I prefer the 44 dial mainly for the clean layout vs the numbers on the 42.

Personal choice of course!

Yes grey ceramic - one of two releases just landing in market now from SIHH. This Ti42 with grey CE bezel. And black/ red themed 42 with black CE bezel.

Wow... looks like majority of the response is going for the Ti44 despite the Ghost being newer.

I love the design of the 44 and was sure that the 42 line was losing its way but I like this new grey version a lot and I would choose it over the 44ti. If I didn’t have the platinum 44 then I might feel differently.

Neither. I, for one, am not going to pay premium for a modular chrono anymore. Go in-house or go home.

That's a good choice as well, esp with SIHH just 3 months away.

Nah... the greatest AP grey must be the Ti44 Schumi.

Ti44 for most of the reasons mentioned: the stick markers, hint of red, modern pushers...

They actually look quite similar so I think AP were leaning on the success of the 44 for this one. The crisp brushed bezel, which was not there at first, so maybe added due to forum pressure, is another nod to the 44. As much as the grey bezel is interesting I think it only works when it is darker and not washed out, so actually black works better as the bezel goes dark greyish in bright lights anyway.

I prefer the 44 for the reasons stated, pushers, tachy font and colour, red accents, plus the jewel in this crown, the GP red strap.

44 is more balanced (case size and thickness) vs 42 and the rectangular pushers are way cooler. Didn’t RM have anything to do with the design?

Both look amazing so hard choice you got there haha.

I would go for the grey ghost between those 2.

44 TI hands down...the side pushers and over all design proportion and colour variants make it one of the best offshore releases ever in my opinion...

I vote 42 Ghost. I used to own the 44 Ti. I loved it but it was a bit much, size wise, for my 6.5" wrist.

44mm Ti, assuming your wrist is big enough to pull it off. I have a 7.5” wrist and thought it looked big on me. I’ve seen the Ghost in person and the shade of grey of the bezel and strap are just too light for my taste.

Odd from someone who owns or owned at least a couple of ROO’s!

From memory don’t you have the Ti and Ce 44’s
