Someone seems to have phished my membership

Please ignore any message from my user name. Someone seems to have hacked my account and is responding to several for sale listings. Those messages are not from me!

They inquired today about something I had already sold a while back too, just FYI. I deleted the inquiry.

Done. Whoever it was has sent a lot of responses to for-sale listings. I only found out because the responses filled my in-box so I got a bunch of notices.

You have changed your password, now.

Providing you don't inadvertently give it to these occasional scumbag phishers again all will be ok.

Thanks for letting the others know that any PM offers are bogus.

I'm not so sure it was phished. I don't recall responding to a message on this forum for many years.

It happens. Thanks for letting us know. Hearing these stories make me even more cautious.

There is no other way to gain access to your password, unless your computer is hacked also!
Did you click on a link from an email or PM that took you to a TRF sign in page?

Either that, or some lowlife is just using your forum name in Emails to other members....

I got a PM as well. They inquired about a PAM 48 I am selling. I've seen this before on Watchuseek forums. The scam goes like this:

1. Scammer sends you an innocuous email inquiring about your watch for sale.

2. Seller responds to the inquiry.

3. Scammer tries to redirect seller to a fake forum site and asks seller to log in to verify its the same item we are talking about. The site is a phishing site designed to get seller's credentials. A lot of people reuse their passwords for other accounts. So now scammer has access to your personal info.

Note how the URL is actually forumslogfirst.com and NOT TRF.

I did some searching and I think the guy behind this is a previously banned forum members with screen name:
xkurkox

Here is a link to an item he tried to sell elsewhere:
http://www.mywatchmart.com/listing/2...k-15400-black/

Bingo! And it was really nicely hidden.

Scarabei, that's it and it was nicely disguised in an inquiry about a watch I was selling on TZ. The reality is that I haven't been involved in the watch community for many years and while I'm selling off a few things I'm definitely not buying anything.
