Hello there *disabling cloaking device*
Hello TRF folks,
Long time lurker, coming out of the shadows. This is my 5th post and I already bought three watches via the forum - I hope this trend doesn't continue or I will be out of money once I breach the 10 posts mark :D Living in LA, working in emerging tech and started collecting watches some months ago. Some beater watches aside, i now own a Speedmaster Professional (manual wind with Hesalite crystal), Z-Blue Dial Milgauss, and a Ceramic Sub (No Date). I also got two railroad grade pocket watches, one from 1900 and the second one from 1927 respectively. Very cool time pieces on their own with great horological history. As a long time observer, I also wanted to say thanks for all the information the community has curated here. The second hand market for higher end watches is tricky and you provide great resources to research various models and arm the potential buyer against fraud as best as possible. It's not easy to run a healthy community like this and you're doing a great job. Daniel |

Welcome Californian. Watch collecting can be addictive. Here is my advice:
1. Figure out what brands and models that sing to you. 2. Then buy what you love, the best example you can afford, 3. Place quality over quantity. Best of luck. |
