Tried on the 39mm Explorer today and....

... WOW!

I was blown away by it!

Dare I say, it tingled me like I was looking at a sub!!!

Is there something wrong with me, or is this normal?

Getting a 10% discount thrown at me right away didn't exactly help either....

Man o man.
Shouldn't buy anything right now... Have a month in Thailand on vacation coming up in 4 days.... Oh this madness!

As long as you can deal with the short minute hand, sounds like a great buy!

I think the watch looks great, but because inevitably someone always feels compelled to point out the length of the hands in any Explorer 39mm thread, I just wanted to be the first:)

In all seriousness, great watch.

I know about the hands, but when I was looking at it on my wrist, it didn't look out of proportion. I didn't even think about it, I had to force myself into trying to see something wrong with the hands, and I didn't.

It's a very impressive piece to wear. Beautiful in its simplicity, nearly perfect size.

No regrets whatsoever on mine. Only leaves my wrist when I sleep.

I'm glad you like it, start saving. I tried it on and really, really wanted to like it but unfortunately I thought it too small in diameter and too small in hand size

The watch is a real beauty. Honestly, the short hand didn't bother me.

It also looks awesome on a Nato. For when you are - I don't know - on a beach in Thailand for example.

not my pic.

The new Explorer is a beautiful watch and the complaints against it have been the result of way too many super duper macro shots on the internet over emphasizing some feature or another.

From your description, I'd say that you and the Explorer are a pretty good match and you should make hay while the sun shines.
