Vintage Rolex Servicing in CA Recommendations
Can anyone refer me to vintage servicing/repair shop in the LA or SF area? My friend has a 60s, 15mm ladies gold model (?). It is in wonderful exterior condition (and seems to run just fine), but it has been sitting around for many years.
Thanks, DLW |

The old Rolex RSC on Post Street in San Fran is where I would go.

Rolliworks. Mike and Sal are the best in the biz. They have worked on 3 of my watches from service and bracelet repair..

I primarily go to Giovanni at the Independent Watch Service Center (former RSC) on Post St. I have also used Rolliworks and LAWW.

Four Crowns Watch Service in Los Angeles.
Owned by a former Rolex USA Technical Service Manager, and former employees of Beverly Hills Rolex Service Center. |

Ahhhh...I had a brain freeze on the old RSC (since I moved from SF area several years ago). I remember going there and getting good service. I am in LA more than the Bay now, so many thanks to everyone for the quick and helpful responses! I have some pics, but cant remember how to post the dang things!

if you are in LA then try Los Angeles Watch Works, better known as LAWW on this forum. There is also the Watch Buyers Group. Both are located in Pasadena.

Hi Guys;
I have a 1995 DateJust that I bought new and a recently purchased Sub 5513 (1972 per SN). I have never had the above watches serviced. I have read the above recommendations, but can anyone advise what the benefit is to getting serviced at the above LA County facilities as opposed to Rolex Servicing Center on Wilshire Blvd in LA ? Im not looking forward to spending what both watches will cost me but I see it as an investment. I probably need to do the same for my Seamaster Pro which I serviced 16 yrs ago at South Coast Plaza. I appreciate any advice and guidance. |

You’d be nuts to send an unserviced 1972 5513 to RSC! Post some photos if you can. |

Thanks all for your input. I'm not very computer savvy and I am still trying to upload pics of my watches.

Because RSC will charge you an arm and a leg ($2000 minimum because it's vintage) and they will most like screw it up by doing things you SPECIFICALLY told them not to do (like DON'T replace any visual parts, DON'T polish, etc.). I sent them a "neo-vintage" 14060 and I'm STILL dealing with them to correct it even though the service was done in late 2018 (!)
