I have a 5905/1a that gets no wrist time. I’m contemplating a trade for a Rolex 126719BLRO GMT MASTER 2 WHITE GOLD PEPSI BEZEL BLUE DIAL plus $12k to me. I’m not a seller / trader but the 5905 is a bit big on my wrist. I love the BLRO WG with blue face and it’s on my list to acquire. Thoughts?

I mean the 5905 is definitely a better watch. An annual calendar chronograph from Patek. However it is big and bulky and if you don't wear it then go for it.

I would expect you to get more money your way than $12k in that trade for sure.

The two pieces are so different that only intrinsic value can be considered - that is, how much you dislike the 5905 compared to how much you yearn for the WG GMT.

Now if it was the Meteorite WG GMT, that adds a plus sign for the Rolex.

The extrinsic value is way off since you’re trading with someone who is devaluing your 5905. So is (Yearn minus Dislike) ≈ $8K?

Cant blame you if you're not wearing the 5905. I would sell the watch here and then just buy the WG GMT. I own that watch and they are going for WELL below retail!
