Got the choice: Daytona choco dial or updated reference?
Hey everyone!
Got the call I’ve been waiting for and am lucky enough to be faced with a tricky choice: Pick up “one of the last” Rose gold Daytona 116505 choco dial or, Be first in line for the new reference. Love the dial but also really into the updated version. No promises when the new one will arrive. Any opinions? Thanks! |

If the AD is giving you the choice and you really like the NEW version and the AD is saying you will be one of the first to get the updated reference I would wait. Looks like the NEW PM's are starting to come in to AD's per posts on here. Not sure what else you own but if it's not critical can't hurt to wait a couple months.
Just curious what dial you are looking for in RG? The NEW version does not have a choco dial. Just Sundust & Black. IF Choco is your pick get the one they have. |

Depends on how much you like the old reference. There is no direct replacement for the chocolate dial, if you like that I would take the tried and trusted reference.

I’m not familiar with what the new PM models look like compared to the SS references.
In SS I much prefer the newer iterations |

A watch on the wrist is better than a watch on the list.

i’m not a fan of the choco dial on the Daytona, but, if you really like it I’d say to take it and not look back. I think that DtownRRS has it on the nose.
I requested RG with Black/Gold dial in September 22; revised my request to Black/Sundust in May 2023; with launch of new reference. Crickets. :( |

Personally I'd wait for the new reference if you can take your ADs word you're first in line for the new one..

I would take the chocolate, it is just amazing in person. The new references are nice, do not get me wrong but nothing like rose gold and chocolate combo

I would say new because it’s the newest, however who knows what version they will get and maybe you won’t like that version.

"Be first in line for the new reference:" as in the 126505?
I'd take the 11-series chocolate dial. The two (non-diamond) dials of the new 126505 don't look at good to me. (Tough they're all absolutely beautiful.) |

Tough one I got a 116519 a few months ago (steel dial, black sub dials) but I am kicking around asking for a 126519 black dial as well now. You really cant go wrong.
