Just purchased this 1601 with box, have a couple concerns....

Just purchased this 1601 and got a pretty good deal on it. Once I received it I found a couple things that concerned me. First are the endlinks, definitely not what the oval jubilee originally came with. Are these endlinks Tudor?

Another thing that I noticed is that the serial and reference number look to be re-engraved on the case. The stamping on the caseback also looks re-engraved as well. I doubt it could have been double stamped?

The second hand is also bent at the end. Surprisingly the oval link jubilee isn't in terrible shape, I have had other ones that were much more stretched then this one. And the clasp and buckle doesn't look too bad either.

The date wheel appears to be correct for this period, fat font with hooked 7's and closed 6, 9, 16, 19, 26, and 29.

Anything else I am missing? I always appreciate the help of trf.

Thanks
Shane

The price and bracelet condition. I have another 1601 I can use the bracelet on and if the extra dial was authentic I was going to get them swapped when serviced. Pretty much an impulse buy, just trying to justify buying another watch lol

Are you sure that date wheel is genuine Rolex?

The New extra pics show a few problems, USA bands have unmarked end pieces IMHO, you have the steel band clasp, spare dial is resprayed as per my statement in the watchout post

I might be mistaken, but aren't 1601s supposed to be an all steel Datejust with white gold bezel? (1603 being the 2 tone?)

No they come in steel and two tone and solid gold. The last digit refers to the bezel type

Thanks David. Are you sure the clasp is not correct? It says 14k trim on it and it is an exact match to another clasp that came with a two tone USA oval I have. I knew the endlinks were not correct, possibly tudor? Do you see any problems with the case, caseback, or the movement? Case and caseback look re-engraved to me. Thanks again David.
