Bezel insert maintenence/preservation

This recently came into my life and after doing a little standard cleaning off of the debris of the past 48 years I like what I see.

There is a little encrustation of some sort that I wonder about and if I just stop it from getting worse that would be ok.

I would like this to stay pretty much the same which makes me ask what the collective wisdom is on protecting the insert. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with things like waxes? I wonder if the solvents that are likely in most would possibly have a damaging effect. Perhaps Renaissance Wax?

Or, is just cleaning and leaving alone best?

Any help is appreciated

Just wear it - no 'waxes' are going to help. It only looks that appealing because someone wore it for 40 years, so don't baby it now! great watch.

I'm prone to taking the "do nothing" unless absolutely necessary, so that advice is well taken.

I may remove the paint on the crystal from 3-7 mins.

Thanks for the compliment and input.

Wear it as is. I've seen many that are much, much worse than yours, several of which should have been trashed decades ago.

Should I put some wax on this one?

No. After you let the System 3 epoxy flow to smoothly fill in the craters that should provide enough protection
