Opinions Please

Hi all,

I have the option of the following:

Daytona - 116503 - two-tone with white dial;
Submariner - 116613LB - two-tone blue dial;
Submariner - 116613LN - two-tone black dial.

I know the pro's and con's of each watch etc. I just wanted people's thoughts on which they'd prefer if they were in my position.

Many thanks.

Sea-Dweller 4000 and non-date Sub. I'm getting rid of both these pieces and putting some money towards this next purchase.

I had a feeling most people would say Bluesy!

Do you guys not think its a bit too "blingy"? I'm also conscious the dial colour might not go with the certain colour clothes (red/green/brown/grey etc).

The black two-tone sub is a bit more toned down but has the gold which I do like.

I tried on the Daytona yesterday. Lovely feel on the wrist and even though its two-tone definitely doesn't stand out as much as the black/blue dial subs - probably because of the white dial. I'm just not sure about spending more money on a watch with no date and a chrono which I probably won't use.

Most on here seem to prefer the Bluesy, but then this forum has a global audience. As you're also from the UK you'll get this - the Bluesy is a bit "Arthur Daley" for me

I chose the 116613LN because I preferred the black/gold combo anyway (and always have done). The blue TT is a classic but just not for me.

Try both on if you can. They are more different on the wrist than you would imagine.

As for the Daytona - for me it has to have the racing bezel - only avilable on the new SS or the PM varaints. Just looks so much better IMO

Good luck with your decision

I would go 116613LN. I owned that watch and think it often overlooked based on the beautiful bright blue of the 116613LB. A very elegant watch.

I had the same dilemma and went with the GMT TT because I like the proportions better.

The bluesy gets a lot of love on this forum but personally that blue with gold doesn't do it for me.

116613LN Or check out the GMT.

You're showing your age there, even if I knew who Arfur was, I wouldn't admit it.

I think the TT Daytona is the least classic looking Daytona

I think the black and gold Sub reminds me too much of a Bumble Bee or Yellow Jacket

I like blue dials, although this one is bright enough that it won't go with everything, but will go with a lot.
