As the newbie that I am, I was talking from from a visual form point of view only. Meanwhile, my 10 year old Sub hasn't disappointed me in its functionality or its 1000ft depth ratings yet.

I'm a five digit guy. My 16610lv is the perfect Sub for me. The new SD is a smart business move, but it's a further step by Rolex away from my prefences.

Just curious, would you be ok if they went back to the old style Submariner and offer a larger 42mm as well? Seems that would make most people happy.

I'd probably buy a 40mm version of the SD43 if they released it (sans depth rating and thickness) as an updated Sub. My perfect modern watch would be the 16610 case, 16610lv dial, 116610 bracelet, and a ceramic insert in the old bezel. The 40mm ceramic SD is the closest so far. |

I always thought the DSSD was the ultimate Diver with the historic BP FF close behind, now I'd say it's the D-Blue but then with the SD43's nice proportions... if you could merge those two together... which Brian can actually do with one on each wrist and squinting his eye.
