Collection: 4 Watches

This is my recently updated collection. I no longer have the Yachtmaster Ref 116621 and instead have added the Submariner TT Blue. Sports dive watches are my area of interest and I have received comments in the past about adding more diversification but that is not for me. Also, after many years of building much larger collections in the 10-20 zone, I am more comfortable having 4-6 watches that I wear in rotation. I don't want to own watches I don't wear and I don't want to own so many watches that it is difficult getting them all on my wrist. Years ago, that made it frustrating and ultimately moved me to take a break from watches.

How different are they? For me ,they are a variety. I have a Tudor bronze with aluminum bezel, a Pelagos LHD in titanium, the new Rolex Sea Dweller 43, and the Submariner TT Blue. Three different dial colors, different metals, and to me, each gives me a different feeling on the wrist.

Here are some shots of the new Submariner as well as the other 3 watches. I welcome your comments about the collection. Stephen

4 is a good number of a collection. If I were you I would drop the two Tudor ones and replace them with a daytona and a DD.

Well you knocked it out of the park with your two Rolex if you are focusing on dive watches. Certainly couldn't have found two nicer examples that are just different enough to complement each other nicely.

Very nice quartet! I would considering adding a DJ or DD down the road though.

Personally, if I were you, I'd consolidate those to 1 and spend the $ on a different watch :)

Nice collection. I constantly am adjusting my collection and am at 13 now and think I am heading down the road for some consolidation. Not that I don't like all the watch, I do, it just makes it somewhat unwearable. I struggle moving through them and giving enough wrist time to each. At one time all I owned was a SS Submariner and a YG Daytona. Made it very easy which one to pick.

Nice collection. Good size. I also like divers.
Only suggestion would be to maybe look at a white dialed reference. A Exp II polar would look great in that set.

Those tudors don't do much for me. Personally, I'd like more diversity.

Love your collection...big diver fan here, too.

Those Tudors are sweet. I could see that Pelagos making its way into my collection at some point.

Feedback

Thanks for all the feedback. It was interesting to se how many people like the idea of a 3-6 watch collection. Some of you like Tudor and some of you really don't. I like the contrast between the Rolexes and the Tudors. I have been thinking that I don't have a white dialed watch and someone mentioned the Explorer II.

For a couple of reasons, I don't plan on any other watch purchases this year. I went from 3-4 watches and want to see how that goes. My watch budget for this year is gone. I also want to see the offerings from Tudor and Rolex in the next few years. I think that one of the watches by Rolex that could be redone would be the Explorer II . For this year, I plan to enjoy what I have and frankly am grateful that I have such watches as I look down at my wrist. As a watch friend of mine said (Mark), its like looking at a piece of art on your wrist every day and I feel that way also. Take care. Stephen

Lots of love for divers here, so I really like your group. I agree you're missing a white dial. Enjoy the hunt!

Very nice collection! I thinks 4 automatic timepieces in a watch collection is a great #, 5 would be the limit in order to truly enjoy them all.
