This little quirk of mine has actually helped me receive more money when I go to sell said item in the future. For instance I sold one of my old graphics cards a year or so ago and I got about $150 more than usual because I had everything that came with it originally down to the static bag and stickers that came with it.

All that being said I am not overly cautious (Is it safe?) with my items, I enjoy them and get a ton of use out of them. I just like keeping boxes etc /shrug
Same for me Anthony. I like a complete set with a watch. I sold a motorcycle a few months ago. I had every receipt from new. I had a log book of everything done to it along with the date and miles on it when done. One of the reasons I got more for it because of the records I kept with it. Look at the price of a vintage watch both with and without complete set. Which one brings more money?

The one with the bezel protector.

According to some members 2003 is vintage.

Try a different AD, and be nice.

Ps, failing that there's loads on eBay but there certainly not 5 cents.
I do not think the OP had an attitude. I have encountered similar snobbish responses from ADs.

I am sorry, but asking your AD if you can buy a bezel protector is and absurd question??

Seeing where you are living, I would not tolerate anything of the sort. The AD stores in the UAE seem pretty good, but numerous times at other stores I have told the staff to "try that again without the attitude".

Let me rephrase - "can I buy your garbage?"

Seems a little odd to me. I'm almost 100% sure that the AD didn't know what the guy was talking about and just blew him off, which is what I would have done.

I travel with mine in a casebudi but I thought I'd use the protectors too for added security but I've never remembered to go take them out of the box, but I guess people do as they sell on ebay.

Not absurd but small fry, asking if you can buy a set of pristine Daytona stickers is where the real money is.

He asked if they had one so he could buy....that is not asking for free imo

They would have been more likely to give him one if
A) he asked in person
B) didn't mention buying

Why don't you know how to properly quote posts? It's not difficult. Good luck getting a bezel protector - something that most people would have no difficulty acquiring.

But see that wasn't your question. Your question was...

"I need to spend 700 dollars to get a 5 cent piece of plastic?"

...which is condescending and sarcastic. Would it offend me? no. But it is absurd, and IMO more absurd than his response which was simply... "yes".
