I would spend the 3500 on an omega, maybe a speedy, then you would have 2 cool watches, there is a mk1 39m explorer for 4K on the for sale section, just serviced.

I just think you should hold onto your dj2

That's a good deal. I'd do it.

I wouldn't. I'd keep the DJII and source a fluted bezel and just switch them out. Can probably be done for less than $1000.

Personally not a fan of the jubilee and I just traded my DD40 for a DD2 as I liked the size better.

I've read (here) that changing out the bezel alone weakens the integrity of the watch and impacts resale

Not a fan of Omega only because I'm not knowledgeable on the brand as much and heard not as good resale?

Seems reasonable. I will tell you however that I traded my smooth bezel DJII for a used fluted bezel DJII and paid around $1,800 to do the trade. The one I picked up was in perfect mint condition and in way better condition than the one I traded in. So I would suggest you at least consider flipping for a DJII and saving some cash, unless you are dead set on the DJ41 with the jubilee.

One other thing I would suggest is taking a look at a jubilee bracelet and trying it on before you decide to go that route. I thought I wanted to do the same thing (flip to get a jubilee bracelet) but after looking at them I think the oyster looks a lot better - just one guy's opinion. I think the oyster bracelet and the thicker batons on the DJII give it a more youthful/sporty appearance

$5K for 2013 DJII w smooth bezel is a good offer, these are only going for $5K - $5.3K pre-owned. Some of the TDs here will offer you $4K-$5K for your DJII (depending on your patronage, condition, and papers).

The DJ41 Fluted at $8.5K is the current market average.

So it's a fair-good deal. Plus, you're getting a Flutted Bezel, that's the way to go on a DJII or 41.

Ironically, the DJ36 I do like in the smooth for some reason? I think because the bezel is nicely rounded?

I did. Figured jubilee is classic. Oyster scratches easily and is evident thereafter.

Ok good, sounds like you have made your choice. $5K for that trade is very generous. It's slightly more than I got for mine and that was BEFORE the DJ41 was released, which has probably hurt DJII prices a little. So I would do that trade if I were you, it's a good deal

Really good trade/price from an AD. I'd do the deal before they change their minds!
BTW- You will be so much happier with the new 41. The proportions are so much better than the II.

Agree that the proportions is more desirable on the DJ41. They ordered it with no obligation and it'll take a few weeks. Once it is in I can do the trade that day.

One thing I will say is the blue dial doesn't seem to pop on the 41 like it does on other Rolex blue dials including the II. I tried on the Dark Rhodium and blue smooth bezel and walked out with the rhodium. I went in to get the blue. I also tried on the fluttet bezel blue dial and it was nice. Maybe it's the same dial as the II color wise and I was just more smitten by the rhodium. Guess you will see soon with a side by side.

your AD is being extremely fair on the trade-in and the new DJ41. I would do the deal! I had a DJ2 and now have a DJ41 on Jubilee and all I can say that the DJ41 works way better for me!

Buy a fluted off eBay and swap it out. They can be had for about $400. Use the $2,900 to go on vacation. When you're tired of the fluted again, you'll still have your dome to swap back. ;)
