What is a fair price for a TT Datjust

Hello Everyone, As I am new to Rolex, I thought I would come to the very best place for advice.

I have been offered a 1989 TT Datejust with 1 year remaining on the Rolex service warranty for £2800. The watch is in good condition with the box and papers, would this be a fair price. many thanks in advance.

In my opinion the price should be in Dollars instead of Pounds.

Welcome to the forum.
In my opinion the price should be in Welsh Shillings.

£2,800 seems reasonable enough. The newer the model DJ, the better.

Ok, sorry I did not know. I think it has the flat (sapphire) crystal if that makes a difference. The price is £2800 ($4,422) current list is £6710 ($10,591)

1989 could be a late 16013 or an early 16233.

I'd still go for the later model.

Saying that, I'd spend a little more and go for the 116201 series. Gotta love the solid band, decent clasp and polished lugs.

More like a tad over £4,000, preowned. Worth it though.

The above watch was offered locally for sale last month mint condition, no box and no papers. I had it checked out and it was 100% authentic. The seller wanted 5k, Canadian; he had a hard time selling it and lowered his price to 4K Canadian (which is something like 3800U$D!!!)

Nice watch, great value, especially at that price but I just could buy it.
I found it to wear rather small; doesn't help that my daily watch is a DSSD

I don't know if it is still for sale but I could find out for you
Only problem I can see here is Customs, unless you happen to be in Canada

I agree Paul, that is a good looking watch.

I must say though that I can't remember when I last bought or saw a 89 16233 for over 3k.

I know, I was just kidding with Paul.

Again, that watch can be found here very easy for $2,500 - $3,000

$4000 CAD is £2500. I'd have ripped his arm off.
