Need your opinions -- which one to chose - 5167/1A or 5711?
Hi dear PP enthusiasts,
I have a deal about to be completed that gives me two options : one is a BNIB 5167/1A, the Aquanaut on SS bracelet, and the other option the Nautilus 5711 - that one being MINT but 1yo. Given that the price difference in that deals is on the range of $1,700, that I'd have to spend extra on the 5711 one, which deal would you prefer? I'd much appreciate your opinions Thanks in advance |

$1700 is soon forgotten either way, whether you get the one you like more or the one that is cheaper assuming they are not the same watch. Either you forget you spent the extra $ and are happy with your purchase or you wish you had have spent the extra $ because you got the one that you like less. If the cheaper one is the one you want then happy days.
Both great watches though. |

For me if I were to wear either watch on a bracelet I would go for the 5711. The 5711 looks perfect on the bracelet just as the 5167 looks perfect on the strap.

I fully agree with George...
Just got my 5167 in strap few days ago, months back I was trying the bracelet version & it just don't look good on me. Most important is that you had to try it to see which one fits you better & if you point a gun on my head, between the 2 I will pick 5711 Alternatively 5167 rubber strap... Just add to your confusion. Enjoy the process... Hope to see some photos soon |

Simple. I would prefer the 5711.
You should get the one you prefer.

This is the best advice you could get...
In all seriousness, for a one and only watch I would go with the Nautilus on bracelet because I happen to prefer it. The Aquanaut is a very nice watch as well but not my first choice for a one-and-only.

I would pick 5167 with bracelet over both the rubber 5167 and the big ears 5711

5711 is closer to the original. You won't regret the extra. Consider the 5167 for later, but then you can get it with the rubber strap which is the much nicer option all round.

I would get the Nautilus 5711, if you can only get one. IMO, it can be dressed up or down much better than the 5167, which looks too sporty to dress up as far as I am concerned...
I'm not really a fan of the 5167 aesthetics though, but as they say: opinions are like.... |

5711 first and then 5167 with rubber strap.

I really appreciate this thread as I'm in the same dicey position.
Why so little love for the 5167 on stainless bracelet? Don't you think that the PP bracelet is beautifully made and finished and compliments the case as well as expanding the versatility of the 5167? |

Well, in my subjective opinion, I don't like the dial or bezel on the 5167. The bracelet/strap doesn't even come into consideration for me, since I can't get past the dial and bezel...

Guess this is why there are many models!
I recently chose the 5167 over the Nautilus, as I prefer its even sportier look, and the Arabics on the dial. Having made that choice, I like the 5167 on rubber - don't like the looks of the metal bracelet. Different strokes.....

Well, having both now would be very nice, but my pockets are not as deep as yours , guys. Just a newbie into it. I do appreciate all responses -- it does seem the Nautilus 5711 would be a nicer choice now if bracelet version is to be considered into account -- being a rubber strap version of 5167 a later challenge. To my untrained eye, both are beautiful, though |

I just got the 5167 and did not like the 5711 but the more and more I see it , it really makes me wonder.. I got a deal too good to pass up on the 5167 but maybee in the future I will trade up to the 5711 but if there was only a 1700 difference and the 5711 was mint then I would go for it and congrats before hand.. Please post some pics when you get it..

If the 5711 is only 1.700 more than the 5167-1a, I think it's much better to get the 5711, love my Aquanaut, but if I had to choose between it and one of my 2 Nautilus, easy choice, 5711, and my 5167 is the R version
