let me share my deepest secrets ….

… i have a nylon fettish :)

after being told off 'again' for not sharing on the forum and only posting on Instagram…..let me share the 'Milstar as someone put it…..one 5513 is still at service or we coulda got it a bit more balanced up :)

3 x 5517 , 2 x 5513/7 (5515 :) ) , 1 x sm300 and 1 x A6538

How cool is the 6538 with that big military bezel thing on it. The 5513/7 has never been a source of excitement for me, maybe because I'm not into military paraphernalia, but the a6538 is an exception alright.

Oh yes, beer too. I'm going way OT here but my dad was in New Guinea and Borneo 1941 to 45, he told me when he got a beer ration he could trade 1 bottle of warm beer for a carton of Lucky Strikes with a GI. They had endless cigarettes but the Aussies were badly paid and their cigarettes were scarce and expensive so he always traded his beer rations.

When I got the Aussie Sas 5513 369 I had the pleasure of talking to a few of the Vietnam era Australian Sas veterans and from their stories it was much the same then , scrounging the basics of life from the Americans ... Tough buggers though !!!
