Advice needed please from my forum friends

First off Merry Christmas and best of New Years to everyone.
I've been on a flipping spree as of late and it seems like I've found what I think I'd like to land on but I'd like a bit of advice and feedback from my fellow forum members to solidify what I already think is going to be the END result.
I'm currently wearing a year old Tudor Pelagos - 2 line ( black face ) and I've found a P serial 16200 with a white Roman face ( always loved that look )
The watch isn't perfect, but it's damn nice for 15yrs old. It has the 3135 movement and sapphire Crystal and to be quite truthful.... I've developed carpal tunnel in both hands and I think the classic Datejust would be a lot more comfortable that the larger size Rolex and Tudors I've been wearing.

Anyone have any thoughts or opinions? Good or bad? I can take both or else i wouldn't have posed the question.

Thanks much everyone for your time- and of course this is all from one of our Trusted Sellers so no worries about getting a New York or Hong Kong knockoff 🤓

I plan on keeping this one for sometime if I do it. I'm tired of the flipping game.

Thanks,
Rich Murphy

Hi Richard,
Didn't you just flip a Sub for a Pelagos, then the Pelagos for a Black Bay, then Black Bay back to Pelagos (or something like that) in the last month? If I were you I'd take a breather and see what the new year brings. Hope it's a good one for you.

Sounds like comfort is the key issue for you so DJ sounds ideal. But take your time.

It is comfort after having the heavier watches on.
Now Mr. Adam I wasn't trying to get you riled up. I have done all that and more but it has little to do with if something is comfortable or of similar value.
I'm ringing in the New Years well. It's just a post to either give an opinion on or not.

Having worn all of the above and a dssd in addition. I will say that the DJ, in my experience, will likely be a lot more comfortable than the sport divers. Even the titanium Pelagos which I currently wear in a rotation with a BB and a DJ2.

Not sure what would cause the carpel tunnel issues, but if it is higher profile and weight a DJ may help. If there is any possible way to find an even older one on a strap that may allow you to keep your Pelagos as an occasional wearer that would be ideal. Unless you just cannot wear it at all.

But I am with Adam. Take your time, try in more than just Rolex. Just as one example, I have a couple Nomos watches that are an incredible value for the money and are thin and light and would fit the bill.

Hey Rich. My 2 cents having just come from flipping a BB and a SubDate Ceramic: 36mm DJ will make a difference. You won't even know you're wearing it. I just got mine last week. I also picked up a Pelagos last week which I think although big is perfect weight wise. I think either can be good. Another option you may look into is somewhere in between with a 39mm Explorer. That one is really comfortable too but a little bigger than the DJ.

My advice is to get the carpal tunnel surgery. I had it done and am very happy.

Go with the 16200. The white roman is a nice look. I would put it on a leather band, you'll feel naked compared to a sub.

I don't think you're going to do much better than the Pelagos, comfort-wise. It's as close to not wearing a watch as I've found.

The 16200 with the white Roman face has always been on my want list.
Yes as someone mentioned the carpal tunnel surgery is going to be a must have, after my upcoming two MORE back surgeries ( ugh ) .... I was no friend to my body.
The Pelagos is just to darn heavy, I love the size but factually it's just to much watch.
I think it will be a great flip for me. I'm excited, it's being given a good once over by the watchmaker and will be mine soon enough.

Flip Pelagos to DJ, and if you don't like it flip it again to Pelagos!

The DJ that has "always been on your want list" up against the Pelagos on your wrist which is too "darn heavy" with both being of "similar value"......

It's almost more a question of flip vs add, than flip vs not flip.

Well the trade is taking place and I'm trying to wait patiently through the holidays for it to arrive. It should be on the wrist Tuesday.... But here it is:

(for some reason I really like this photo)

It's a P Serial and its having the movement cleaned and pressure checked before heading my way. I'm looking very forward to owning a classic Rolex Datejust. I think it's quite handsome, it'll be a great start to the New Year!
Happy New Years to all of you from my family to yours.

Nice trade Rich. Were you able to do an even trade with the Pelagos?

Ty to everyone, I'm very excited to get it. It'll be a bit of a change from what I'm used to wearing but I'm looking forward to something that's more comfortable for me with the shape my hands have been in do to this damn Carpal Tunnel.... I used to always think that condition was a joke diagnosis until it happened to hit me. And the Roman face is just my favorite ever!
I'm currently on the look out for the correct bezel for it. I like the smooth well enough but would really like to have a stainless fluted or even the engine turned. I posted an ad in the WTB section... One will turn up soon enough. I just think the fluted screams classic Rolex

36 mm DJ is the quintessential Rolex imo.

Be careful doing that, it looks like you traded for a 16200, which comes with a smooth bezel. If you do manage to find a fluted white gold bezel (which are very rare), and do get it installed (you will have to do this at an independent watchmaker), you can't send it to RSC or an AD for service. They will seize it and replace it with the original smooth bezel. The fluted bezel was made for they 16234.

Still a great watch though, and I even prefer the smooth bezel

Good point Colin! And good information to know! Better to buy the Oyster Bracelet that goes so nicely with it than to put a bezel on it that's not meant for it.
Was it an option to have the jubilee bracelet and the smooth bezel or was that swapped at some point?
I like the smooth bezel myself .... No worries with that at all and I also don't find anything wrong with the Jubilee bracelet

Yes sir it was an even flip and it's been on the wrist now day and night since just after the New Years. I am in love with it, almost as much as I was when I got my first Sub.
I've never had as many compliments on my Sub and Tudors as I've had on my Datejust. Those compliments have certainly affirmed to me that I made the exact right decision. Here he is, also the Datejust has helped greatly with my carpal tunnel.
