1969-1970 1675 GMT Pepsi Advice please
Evening All
I've been looking for a vintage 1675 GMT Pepsi and whilst I'm enjoying learning and researching about them during the search it seems to be a minefield of variations. So I'm turning to you guys in the hope that you can help with one that I like the look of as I know you will be able to tell a lot more than I ever could from the pictures below and ideally give me the good and bad on this particular watch. Its reported as being a 1969-1970 production but it has a serial number beginning 298 which from my research puts it at 1972. That's my first query. Secondly, the fond on the dial I cant match to any that I've found so please comment. Should I go ahead and purchase or is this a fake or Frakenwatch??? Asking price is $7,600 btw. I really appreciate any and all your thoughts both good, bad and precautionary. $_57 (1).JPG $_57 (5).JPG $_57 (2).JPG Thanks. |

Welcome to the forum!
Depending what guide you use for the serial, you will get different answers. It is probably a 1970 but the best way to find out is to remove the case back and check the date stamp. With that said, as a 1970 watch, appears all the main parts were changed along the way..dial/hands/insert with quite a bit of polishing. Dial is a Mk-4. IMO, the price is high for a watch in that condition. |
