Appreciating your watch.

I know a lot of you have huge collections but I don't.

I've recently gone from my new GMT LN I got in 2012 to my 2015 Submariner LVC.

I've worn my LVC since Christmas Day but the last 4 days I've gone back to my GMT.

After going back I am appreciating it more, it's not just a watch. I'm noticing (maybe comparing to the LVC) different curves, different feeling, different looks in different lighting etc...

I am loving it all over again like day one back in 2012.

I'm looking forward to the same feeling when I go back to my Submariner.

Do you guys with collections 3+ feel the same & fall in love with your watches that you've had years and years but just made it your daily again ?.

Damn they are fine pieces...

Yes! That's the beauty of having a rotation of watches - each time you put one on after a while away from it, it's like the honeymoon starts all over again. Enjoy!

Tell you what, your two watch collection is basically perfect.

So, yeah, anytime putting either of those back on the wrist is going bring a big sense of appreciation.

For sure....you always fall "back" in love with watches that haven't been on your wrist for a while....

My wife has been wearing our GMT2C for about 6 months now until a couple days I go I adjusted it back for my wrist and I can't stop wearing it

I'm back to taking photos of my GMT at different angles haha. I thought I was past this stage in my life as my iPhone has 100+ GMT images but now I'm loving it all over again.

I'd flip out if I had some of your collections guys 😂.

Absolutely!!!! Every time I pull a watch out of the safe and put it on, I fall in love with it all over again. Each one sang to me and was special. It's just rekindling the magic.

Yep, most days I wear my 116233. Then I put on my 16610 and remember why I like it so much. I appreciate it more when I go a couple of weeks without wearing it.

Good to hear you are loving the GMT again. Love mine.

I am on the fence about a Hulk right now.. How are you finding it wears compared to the GMT? Is the color what you thought it would be? Any head to head comparisons are appreciated even thought Ive probably read everything on the internet about it.. ha.

For me I'm trying to switch up less and get more use of each watch in longer stints. Trying to go for several days to a week instead of daily changes. It'll take a while to get through the rotation that way but it feels good.

Agree, and I like missing them and look forward to wearing them again because otherwise, as I once said to a teenage GF of mine, I miss missing you.

I know I will be in a minority but I am coming around to thinking that a collection of just one watch is the best option.

I bought a 39mm Explorer back in January 2014 and was totally in love with it. I read this forum every day and that combined with the high esteem that I held for the Explorer resulted in me buying a 16610 Sub six months later. I then got the Rolex bug big time and then I treated myself to a Explorer2 Freecione.

I still prefer the 39mm Explorer to the others and if left to my own devices would wear it every day of the year. Therefore I have had to devise a schedule for when I wear each watch and stick to it religiously.

As much as I like the Freccione and the Sub, I find myself counting the days to when I can get back to putting the 39mm Explorer back on.

I should have stuck with the one watch and life would be less complicated.

Despite saying all this, I am still looking for a GMT2 - I must be off my trolley.

Regards

Mick

Mick, don't be afraid to pass those watches on to someone else that would appreciate them as much as you love your Explorer. There should be no reason to wear something "just because." Life's too short for that. I'm a one-watch guy, and I don't regret it. The only thing I would add would be a precious metal watch to go along with my stainless steel. Multiple SS watches don't interest me (mainly my bank account).

I been making an effort to wear my IWC and Omega more, my GMT has been dominating since I got it last year. The more I wear each I'm reminded why I chose these watches and kind of rediscovered my enthusiasm/appreciation for them.

I was in the same position and basically cashed out- flipped 2 watches plus cash for my GMT 2c.

I don't regret doing that. I look and think about buying but that's about it so far.
