Icon20 Buying a 2015 Rolex DJ 116234 from whole sale connect?

Hey Guys and Gals,

Checking in on your opinion about buying a Rolex from a "whole sale" connect and what the typical discount should be? My connect said they can get a BNIB 2015 DJ 116234(pic is below of the exact one i am looking for) for about 18% off the retail price in a Rolex store. is that a pretty good deal or just fair? I am somewhat new to the Rolex world as this would be my first purchase. Any help would be great and sharing any experiences going this route would be greatly appreciated!

Check the trusted sellers here and the sold price on eBay for an idea of what they are going for.

If you are "new" don't be in a hurry.

Read up / research on TRF and elsewhere for a few months.

Asking what an "average discount" should be is a tough question It could vary wildly across types of sellers / status of the watch, configuration etc. it may be zero at a Brick and Mortar AD from whom you have never purchased...to double digits with a trusted seller.

Your watch is very common...not in as high a demand as say a BLNR...so who knows. Never heard of your potential seller myself.

Try some of the trusted sellers here - if you would be ok wiring $$$ to a person you've never met. That's how most do business.

understood. The connect is through my buddy who he got his expensive watch through(forgot the brand) and other diamonds for his wife etc. The whole sale connect is in PA. I live in Dallas. I just don't know anyone personally in Dallas that i can meet face to face that has good prices on new and CPO Rolex's.

Thanks for the info! i am still on the hunt.

Good prices on "certified pre-owned" will be hard to find in brick and mortar. Mark ups far higher than a regular guy selling a watch...but much less risk.

Trusted sellers mark up as well, but not as much. Guys with top reps negotiate much less on fast-moving models so be prepared.
