Sky-Dweller Stainless, talk me out of it

Since there's no room in the watch fund to add the Sky-Dweller I'd be letting go my GMT 16710 Pepsi and Explorer I 214270. It was never even an option in PM but I've always loved the complications, annual calendar and dual time zone is amazing in one watch. I will probably wait until discounts can be had but am I nuts to make this move?

Yes.

That watch will be around a while! Finding a 16710 in great condition at a reasonable price will only get harder...assuming you'd want to replace it.

I have respect for the Skydweller - like I do for Lima beans. I just could not stomach either of them every day.

Not nuts at all, I'm considering flipping my 116500LN which I absolutely love. This blue is spectacular.

Not nuts, maybe wait until prices stabilize? It does everything the GMT and Explorer do, and it's sharper.

It's a beautiful piece.

No, don't do it. Keep this one quiet

In all seriousness, I think Rolex hit a home run with the SS(white Rolesor) Skydweller

If you like it I say why not

Anyone else liquidating a Pepsi or some other borderline vintage watch for a Steel Sky Dweller?

Done and done!! This watch is cool (I will prob get one) but I do not think it will be super popular. Should be an easy find at least after the first couple of months after its release

Love the blue dial. Still shocked Rolex did this. I think it will compete with the Datejust as a stainless steel dress piece especially now that any steel Datejust over 36mm is going to cost between 7.5-9.5k.

It is all in what you want to do. I personally would not sell my 16710 and another to obtain that watch. Is it nice sure but think it out before as said the 16710's in good condition will get harder to find. Just my .02

I'm planning on flipping my DJII (+ $$$) for it in a year or two when they start to show up in the secondary sales market. Totally love this watch and I think the various functions are very cool.

BUT - I have a 16710 also, but I'll hold onto that. That would be touch to part with

It doesn't. I just tried a gold one on to make sure! I'm definitely in, don't like the blue, love the black, but fancy a white face for a change!!!

Will it pair with the Sea Dweller in your avatar? I think it'd be a nice pairing...but if you ditch the other two to become a one watch guy, maybe not.

Many people thought the DJ2 was way too big and bold and too large sticks on the dial - but now that the SS version of the SkD comes along with stick dial, the new SkD is perfect.

complications is amazing. Personally a little pricey for a SS rolex but a pretty nice buy if you have the funs.

I admit the SkyD is not classically great looking and a bit of an acquired taste, so it's pretty impressive to see so many here who are interested in the AC and GMT comps now that the price is very reasonable.

it will wear big but sounds like your wrist size is good for it...like the DSSD and ROO, a lot of metal on the wrist...will wear bigger than the 43mm
