Farm chores with BLNR

Got through my Sunday morning chores today before realizing I never bothered to take off my BLNR. Took care of the chickens, fixed a dog pen, organized the shop, and later filled the diesel. Had to take a picture to document my literal and figurative "blue collar" timepiece.

I have OCD about babying my possessions that I'm actively trying to get over so this is good for me. Anyone else do hard work or chores with their Rolex? I hear they can take it.

I was working on one of my investment properties yesterday with mine on. Probably not my brightest idea since I was painting, tiling, and messing with power tools.

Awesome! I don't baby my watch but I also try not to wear it if I know there is a good chance I might hurt it. I work in a fast pace retail environment where I am always banging and scraping up against things so I wear a G-Shock and leave the Rolex at home.

Looks like your BLNR is well protected with that glove.

Glad to hear it. The SS GMT II BLNR should be sturdy as long as not abused!

I don't own a farm but I do own 10 chickens, was out there today feeding them and getting eggs with the 114060 on, I only take it off when I have to give them any kind of medical attention that involves blu-kote

Yeah my AD threw the "watch protector" in for free with my purchase.

I take no precautions with my newly acquired SD4K - after all it is a tool watch.

Thankfully, no PCLs on a Sub. Just for interest sake, the end result of that three months of part-time work was this feature brick wall in our new house.

The watches are made to be worn. I try to match my watch with the task at hand. I will not intentionally abuse my watches but I will wear them.

I put my watch on 7 months ago and pretty much haven't taken it off. I wear it 24/7 to include work, play and everything else. I expected when I bought it that it should be as close to perfect as possible from a quality control aspect but had no expectations that it would stay that way. I've never been sure what people mean by not abusing their watches. I guess if you take it off and use it as a hammer that would be abusing it but putting it on and wearing it through whatever life throws at you is simply wearing your watch. Mine has enjoyed a lot of life in a short time so far.

I don't think people realize that Rolex can make your watch look like the day you purchased it when being serviced.

I have learned to enjoy my watches over the years, I truly believe that little dings and scratches add character. Each one is another memory of actually living life, not tip toeing through it.

I got my Thunderbird two tone back and was amazed by how many parts were replaced and by the quality of the polishing. Virtually a new movement. And no, they didn't care about my gaudy aftermarket diamond dial that I got with the watch.

The jubilee bracelet is still stretched but now it's shiny stretched :-).

Totally agree that Rolex servicing will refinish your modern watch to like new. So wear your Rolex in good health and be assured Rolex servicing will see you right when the time comes.

Perfect!

If you want to save the Bracelet is this kind of situations, I recommend what I did, bought an Everest Band. Pretty satisfied with it!

Nice
Over the years I've worn my 16610 for everything. I sit behind a desk most days, but I've powered washed, axed out shrubs etc, steam room, washed cars... If you can take it, so can your watch. Enjoy!
