Service recommendation in the U.K.

My 16600 has developed a nasty harmonic vibration that I think is coming from the winding weight, I need to get it serviced as it's my daily wearer.

Where can I send it in England or Wales, I'm not to hot on sending it to the RSC as I don't want it polishing to death or having the dial and hands replaced.

So guys who is the main go to man?

Thanks in advance :)

I would still send it to rsc. Just state you want service only and no polishing/replacements.

I have been sending my watches to St. James Square RSC (London) for servicing, regulating, etc. (also from North Wales) for approximately 10 years with no problem whatsoever. Always receiving a superb service.

If there are things you do NOT want them to do to your watches, just clearly state in the letter/email and they will honour it.

For example, I recently requested they do not polish the clasp on my 16610 during service so to avoid over-polishing the crown. And that was what they did, no problem. I ended up doing it myself (slowly with pro tools) when the watch came back and now a freshly serviced watch has a clasp that looks brand new too.

Good luck!

RSC St James. Specify requirements and it's done.

I'm also from North Wales. David M Robinsons have an in house watch specialist who serviced my 16710 and did a decent job. Not sure of the price as I negotiated the service as part of another purchase.

What's the issue with polishing? Just out of interest.

That's not a bad quote, I always deal with Paul the Service Manager when I go down there as he always looks after me. The service on my 16610 last year was around the same price, the only difference is I asked for the bracelet to be lightly polished.

Chris

For your own security, I would either take that photo of your letter off the forum and/or possibly edit it. Apart from you have advertised where you live along with your Rolex, you have left the serial number and model etc exposed..

However I will be sure to look you up as I drive through on my way to Abersoch in a couple of weeks. A nice part of the world which I love.

You'r welcome here anytime shakey, I've got a campsite and pub about 3 miles from Pwllheli www.facebook.com/llwynffynnon for the campsite or www.facebook.com/thepegandmallet. I'll buy you a beer :)

Not to bothered about the address as it's listed and dont see how the serial number can affect me :)

In which case I will be sure to look you up Chris. If I don't get this month (other half just had op), I will be definitely be up in August.

A get together for Rolex chat is always a winner.

FYI most people keep their serial numbers under wraps as fakers like to stamp the hooky models with genuine serial numbers that match the model of watch.
