Nautilus 3800, White Gold

Hello all,

New to the forum, have lurked for years.

I recently acquired a Nautilus 3800 in all White Gold (traditional blue face). I love the 3800 as I have an average to smaller size wrist and I like the 37.5mm case size--it is decidedly sporty and elegant at the same time (I wore it with a formal dinner jacker on Friday night and a t-shirt and jeans yesterday)

I love the watch--purchased to celebrate the birth of my son, and plan to give it to him in 30 years (if all goes well!!)

Anyhow, does anyone know relative production numbers for these white gold Nautilus? I've never come across one until now. Obviously there are the uber-rare platinum models out there.

Anyhow, looking forward to discussing more.

Congrats on a nice Nautilus model! Only PP knows the production numbers by model and unless the models are well defined limited editions, they're not saying. Nautilus models are limited by PP's capacity and willingness to produce them versus their other models, and generally speaking precious metals versions will be scarcer than stainless ones.

Congratulations on the acquisition of your new watch

The 3800 has had a fairly long production cycle from 1981 to 2006. The SS version was the most popular, followed by the YG. As you mentioned, they made very few pieces in platinum. We don't know how many Patek made in WG and RG, but it probably was not as many as the YG.

We don't see many 3800's on here, so if you get a chance, please share a wrist shot with the community
