On a journey...

Hello,

I'm finally on a journey for my first panerai. As a beginner working on this brand, I'm totally overwhelmed with all the details and options available, but I guess this is one of the aspects that make this brand so cool.

My goal is to find a 44mm watch with a brushed case. It might sound simple, but it's not. There are really few options on the market.

After some research, I liked the radiomir marina 8 days titanium (564). My only concern is the brown (tobacco) dial. I'm not totally convinced about it. I would like to hear what you guys think about this particular model.

I really appreciate all comments.

Did you mean Luminor rather than Radiomir? The picture you posted is of a Luminor.

I'm also not a fan of the brown and the 8 days on the dial.

I have what I believe to be the spiritual predecessor of your watch, the PAM116 with a titanium case and tobacco dial. That dial colour is what I specifically wanted and it has a lovely warm feel to it.

564 is a beauty. I like the warmth of the dial combined with the brushed Ti.

For a black dial and brushed 44 SS or Ti case, have look a look at the 164, 176, 177, 312 or 1312.

Good luck with the hunt! Looking forward to seeing what you choose.

Good advice.
Happy hunting and share some photos once you get it.

Great choice for your first panerai! Tobacco dial PANERAI's are beautiful in flesh. I suggest you try to see if you can. I don't have any but I have a 390. If you can find one, maybe another choice. Not brushed though. Good luck!

PAM 118 was my forst and I actually prefer the tobacco face and brushed case, to the black/polished. It is less contrasty and the faces matches better to brown strap shades. If you tend to like more muted and earth tones, I find the dark brown face is more complementary.

I have an 005 and a 233 now, and I find they only look best on black.

That 562 is so cool. I bet with green canvas strap,it would pop.
