Welll....now that you've brought it up. The pt. Daytona goes hand in hand with your garage-mates. lol

It's my first PM watch, and while it feels very dense and heavy when I am first putting it on (in a good way), it melts away on your wrist in a minute. Unless you think about it. And then you know it's there (also in a good way).

Might be worth considering!

I have a pretty big collection and the BLRO is the watch I wear the most, by some distance.

It's a fantastic fantastic piece and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Tough choice! My two most used watches.

I love gold. A lot. However I find that the 5164a is a little cooler with the sunburst dial and the excellent travel time function. The date change method is a bit annoying though. Of the two, I'd get the PP first but no question would also start saving for the 116719 also.

The worst part about these pics is the knowledge that it looks even better in person.

Another perspective from an owner/former owner of all the metals. If stainless isn't doing anything for you (maybe not enough pop) because of the metal color, you'll may feel the same about WG after the initial honeymoon wears off. Also, if you haven't seen the bezel outside of the AD, I'd definitely suggest that you do so, especially if you'd want a vibrant color similar to the original Pepsi bezel colors. Don't get me wrong...it is a beautiful watch....but this is just my 2 cents, and some things to consider

Hey I get you on the addictiveness of Rolex PM, after the Sub I soon ended up with this trio. Sounds like the BLRO should be next and then the 5164r later.

Thanks for the feedback, I have tried the Platona on a few times now at the AD.
It's so beautiful to look at, but just really need to get used to the weight on my small wrists.
I have had both the WG and YG Subs now, and that is about as heavy as I like it.
But I never say never, its a beauty!!

Beautiful shots Mike of both watches!
Seeing you recommend steel (first) over gold is saying something about the 5164a. And I ALSO love sunburst!! I had the 5167r, so I know the beautiful way the Aquanauts play with light.

Thanks for the feedback!!

It would not be a trade, more an add on. Problem is the Platona is a bit too heavy for my tastes (at least for now...lol).

Thanks Richard , I did have the WG Sub for a year and really enjoyed it. I can definitely tell the difference between the WG and Steel. But I DID enjoy FIVE SS Rolexes over the past year, so it might just be a boredom effect. I DO like Rolex steel, it's just ALL I have been wearing for a year straight up until 2 weeks ago.

One thing I have not seen is the BLRO outside the AD. That is a good thing to consider.

Patek SS is a bit different as I am loving the 5711 white I have. Again, I was wearing and enjoying Rolex steel for a year, so probably my collection will find a balance with at least one SS Rolex piece, likely the SD43 or 116500 whichever I end up liking more.

Wow, that was a nice trio... I remember seeing that prior to your move to PP 5711/1r and AP 44rg.
Honestly I love AP 44s, especially the RG and Ti, just they don't fit my 6-1/3 inch wrists right.
Or AP would be thick in the discussion too. Also thought about the 5711/1r and tried it on in person.
GMT gold is not exactly my taste, though NICE!! I wish there was a sunburst green on it!
DD40 olive green is still on my mind too, RG and chocolate my second fav DD.
They are all beauties!!!

I found an unworn BLRO with factory seals still on it here in Florida for $24,850 that I am going to check out in person tomorrow.

Seems like a good price for unworn with warranty card, factory seels, box, papers etc.
I found preowned ones as low as $23,000, but I would pay a little more for a new one.

Best price on a new Patek 5164 in NEW condition with my name on the papers is $28,900.
Tough to find good deals on NEW ones... I did find some preowns around $26,000.
ALL USD.

If anyone has feedback on pricing it would be much appreciated. I much prefer new watches (whether trusted seller or AD).

I am already having fun... After record month after month of sales, my money doesn't sit and collect dust

Yes, there are plenty of watches I do not like... Most watches outside of PP, Rolex, AP (and RM). And all the dress watches within these 3 as I am not into dress watches, though I do like the PP 5131 and 5270.
RM RG watches I do like also.

But yes, yes... I am not faithful to my watches at all... I love so many,
What do you call that, polyamorous...

Different watches abd I had smiler dilema last month but between BLRO and blnr. I like the GMT function and use it a lot. I still can't believe the Rolex is meant to be the pilots watch!!! Looking for the home hour hand is not intuitive and takes some serious staring at the dial to work out where it is!!! The 5164 is more legible. The 5164R is gorgeous..

I will join the "go crazy over the yes or no BLRO" state of mind :-)

Would need to sell my BLNR and Bluesy for it though.....

But on the subject, if you can, GO!

The BLRO hands down over the PP. Rolex does, in my opinion, the very best in PM watches with bracelets around. Add in great value and if purchased appropriately a strong resale value and you are there. With moving watches around as you do I would not take the new watch hit and would go slightly pre-owned but complete.

I love my BLRO and have been wearing it daily since I got it. It's great-looking, comfortable, and has exceptional wrist presence with its WG heft. Highly recommended.

I think that you already knows the BLRO is for you.
With the 5164 you have to really love it above everything else, if one needs to question the watch it's not for you, yet.

A decision has been made after a lot of research and trials...

To B-LRO!!

This watch has really grown on me and the emotional appeal of this beautiful WG Pepsi just outweighs the rational thought process I used to convince myself of getting the 5164.
Seeing both in person and revisiting my Rolex AD like 5 times now, I am sold. There is just something about Rolex sports watches that no other brand can rival (at least for me).

I am loving my YG Sub so much, and I think my love affair with PM again has given me a greater appreciation of the 116719.
And there are occasions I would love to tone down the YG to WG.

The 5164 is a great watch but it is going to have to wait.

Incoming this week... Here is a shot I took tonight:
