While I think that collection would provide a lot of interest, I think it would also (personally) provide a lot of guilt. Realistically, I couldn't wear more than 3-4 watches in rotation, hence my current collection. After that, I'd feel bad having all that money in watches I wasn't wearing.

My ideal trio would be my current Seiko Turtle, a WG/Oysterflex Daytona, and a SubC Date.

I've been back for a couple weeks, and have read countless threads about how common the model is, and how people want to flip it because "everyone has one." I also see how for some people, it was an entry into a much grander collection, and now is just another Rolex. For me, the model was my grail, and still is. The posts don't really change how I feel, but they have chipped away at my unabashed conviction that the model is the best watch on the planet. I've also developed a gnawing hankering for both an LVC and a 116613LB. Madness!

To wit.

Sound advice.

I find 3/4 keepers/grails and 1 or 2 satellites to be the best way to keep a collection fresh and you open to new releases.

⬆️⬆️⬆️Agree with Neil. Keep a base 3/4, and maybe a couple outliers if you get the urge to sell, flip, etc...
