Code 11.59 Prices at the lows

I always loved the design and look of the code 11.59 chronograph. For me much more interesting than the RO. These are trading at big discount now on the secondary. For instance Gold/Ceramic models (the model that i like) being offered in the low mid 30s (MSRP 49.2k) Do you think we have reached rock bottom here or there is room to move even lower? This is almost 40% off. I know most hate the code 11.59 but I think at these prices it offers tremendous value (if you like it)

My theory is. AP launched the code 11.59 in 2019. A lot of people bought these to add spend history in the hopes to get allocated a RO. Better not to flip right away. Wait a couple of years. Covid hits. Watch market goes crazy. Now things ate normalizing. Prices are correcting and falling off a cliff (in this case). So better to cut your losses and here we are. Trading at almost 40% discount. But again. At these levels i think those offer tremendous value. But are there enough people out there that love the code 11.59 to offset this supply? Time will tell

I think they’re a good value and they’ll be an even better value later as the price continues to drop.

I love the rose gold chrono's with the blue dials, the case design and dial layout look great on those models. But they are not $50K watches, more like $35K and they would be selling many more of these.

Just got this one. Rose gold with grey smoked dial. Low 30s mint

For a holy trinity gold/ceramic chronograph i think it is an excellent value. Very happy with the watch

A week ago I was in London and visited the AD at Harrods to check out the steel variations. I wasn't too enthusiastic about them - for me the PM pieces seem to work better, but they're too expensive for me.

The sales rep said they're phasing out white gold (too similar to steel) and going to introduce the same stamped guilloche pattern on PM pieces to unify the base models. Will be interesting to see how the new ones turn out (what dial colors etc.).

Exceptional service at the AD, btw.

I tried on some of the gold Codes and was pleasantly surprised. I agree that the MSRP seems too high but at their current secondary market prices I'd consider them. At this stage, I'm trying to be patient for a Starwheel, but I think the chances are slim to none.

I tried some on today. I like them, interesting case and crystal. While I think they'll continue to drop there is some value in buying now and enjoying it unless you're a chronic flipper. The smoked taupe with ceramic midcase is awesome

Agree. Might still have some small downside. I am buying to keep not flipping. But always feels good to pay less :-)

Starwheel is beautiful. But i think that one is still considered a hot model right? Trading above MSRP in the secondary (or at least listed above)

Hi OP, prices will go much lower, just hang tight. I'd refrain from purchasing now.

Genuinely interested to know: what was "exceptional" about it?

There was a chair to sit in?
The sales person knew something about the product they were selling?
They were polite and friendly to you?
They offered you an Nespresso coffee to drink?
They had the product you were interested available to view and try on?

I read these fawning posts about ADs and wonder are any of these things really "exceptional" or have our expectations when spending this >£30k on a piece of functional jewellery fallen so low?

So yeah: what was genuinely "exceptional" about the AD?

As for the OP asking about the watch: I think some of the almost unworn, pre-owned examples of the 11.59 are pretty good value considering the movements and the superb quality of the watch. And the chronograph dials are so much from interesting than the bland time and date versions. As for the used prices in the future, why do you care particularly? If you are not keeping the watch for a long time I'd expect you to lose a good few thousand trading it in a few years time. It is not a design that will be missed particularly once AP give up on it. And they continue to be made and readily available new and nearly new so I'd expect older, worn watches to continue to depreciate. Then you have to pay retail / wholesale spread when you trade. But at least you will not get rinsed as badly as someone paying full RRP from an "exceptional" AD.

I find the ceramic chorno to be an excellent piece for the current going rates. Just be sure to deal with the fincky movement and make sure you have enough years on the warranty! Feels like it's gone back into the shop as many times as the 'exotic car'....

Looks great, rose/ white gold version with ceramic mid case looks pretty cool. not for 50k plus but 30s or mid to high 20s pretty dope - I'd consider it.

Honestly can see these coming down a fair bit further myself.

Congratulations. I think they’re a great buy. I wore my code today and really enjoyed it. Yours looks great. The guys who have them love them. The guys who think we were forced into buying them hate them. For me, it was my fifth AP purchase and took the longest to get (in the configuration I wanted) then any of the other royal oaks and offshores I requested.

The 11.59 is the GOAT! Absolutely love this watch :) Never understood how being offered one of the best watches AP makes as a first watch is a let down.

They will come down further, I think a 50% discount from MSRP is likely

The watch simply isn't desirable and despite the improvements it has a long way to go, also it hasn't redeemed itself from the terrible launch

Only Code I would contemplate buying is a starwheel and maybe the QP preowned which I think is a great value.

Beautiful! I would buy that if I didn’t have the blue chrono already
