Sorry you went through that. Sorry for all involved. The driver is lucky you were there to ease his mind and share what happened.

This is awful.

I watched a guy on a moped get creamed by a car - right outside my office window - in downtown Seattle about 15 years ago. The lady just never saw the guy.
Was awful to watch. I'll never forget the guy.

I've witnessed two traffic accidents- one of which was fatal.

The first one I saw was in downtown Atlanta while enjoying a morning coffee. A pedestrian was crossing an intersection at Peachtree Street and was hit by a car driving at a moderate speed. Amazingly he just flipped over, got up and kept walking. I couldn't believe it.

The second one, unfortunately, was a bit more dramatic. We heard a crash outside our office and looked out the window to see a car wrapped around a street light. We went outside and saw the driver wasn't moving or breathing; it was apparent he had died in the crash. While the first responders were checking him out, a car drove by and lo and behold it was the driver's mother. She got out of her car only to see her dead son and, as you can imagine, completely broke down. I doubt she will ever get over such a tragedy. We all felt so helpless, and so heartbroken for her.

These incidents are a reminder to buckle up, drive safely, and show respect for the power of a moving vehicle.

So sorry you were witness to that event.

About 10 years ago I witnessed almost the exact same thing. Was looking down the road and a pedestrian walked right into an intersection where a car had a green light and was going full speed. I immediately called 911 and could not believe how fast the police and life flight copter landed.

Trust you were a good citizen and helped provide testimony that it was an accident.

Time will help you heal and smart to convey your emotion and experience here with others versus holding onto it by yourself.

God Bless you Brother

Sorry you had to see that Paul. Good of you to stop and provide assistance. Agree with others that if this starts playing on your mind counseling is a good thing.
