G Shock Pure Gold

http://watchesbysjx.com/2019/02/g-sh...llow-gold.html

If I have lots of spare money (I don’t) actually I would definitely consider buying this.

If I had the cash laying around, I would in a heartbeat. It’s cool as heck just as it is and you’ll never see anyone else with one...

Im not sure how $70K is justified. Maybe $6K in actual gold value and nothing special about the movement or display.

I guess you are paying for the 35pc short run tooling costs maybe?

For that price I can buy a Platona

R&D is my guess. With only 35 pieces being made, Casio isn’t really able to spread the R&D costs across millions of watches (like a standard G Shock). If this is something that was years in the making, they may even be losing money. Sometimes companies produce things out that aren’t really in their wheelhouse just to show that they can do it, even if it means they lose money (e.g., Lexus LFA).

Cool concept but even if I had unlimited funds my money's going elsewhere.

It's a no from me, although they may well go up in value. I don't invest in watches and wouldn't buy a watch I wouldn't wear.

The funny thing is that they did the normal G shock testing in it which included slamming it against the ground. I about threw up.

This didn’t require a lot of R&D - the full metal G-Shock paid that back years ago.

Now it’s just stamped out in gold.

But it is the ultimate runners watch

Wearing this to any GTG and you steal the day, whether people are laughing behind your back or whatnot, one thing is for sure, you will the the topic of discussion and everyone will want to take a look at it.

Casio will have no problem finding 35 such people, heck even I’m tempted.

No way, the bracelet isn't worth 69980.00 because the digital tech watch is only worth $20.

I would rather have this one than the digital OP posted, if it were 18k Gold instead of titanium

At 70k I’d be searching for PP, AP royal oak, or maybe a Pepsi and Rootbeer dial and room left over

Lets face it. a $70k Casio is for the people that already have whatever PP, AP, ALS they wished to own, and dropping $70k on a Casio is like dropping $70 on one for us the mere mortals ...

So worry not, nobody is comparing that kind of Casio money to whatever luxury watches you have in mind. In fact, I think this is an excellent "I can have whatever I want" conversation time piece.
