Well, what did he say? What does he do for a living? Are his house, beach house, cars , an watches paid? Financed?

I don’t know you personally, but from this forum you are truly blessed and winning on all accounts.

You know you’re an achiever, if you acquired 3 or 4 RM watches, you would soon be looking for the next level.

Im probably much older, you reach a point when acquiring possession becomes less and less satisfying. I have become very happy with what I have, carry no debt, work less and spend all my free time with my wife and kids.

I’ve learned that a $100,000 watch will only bring temporary, fleeting happiness. I’ll soon move on to the next toy. But invest that in your family will bring unlimited rewards and happiness.

Just my unsolicited advice. As I’ve said, you’re already winning

When one is presently unemployed, and rejected a 3-year offer worth a cool 18m. That's the one.

It’s easy! Just be born rich and have an utter lack of taste.

I think it all depends. I would suspect anyone that is buying RM today are buying it more as their bank account investments. 5 years ago RM was different and the real buyers were the ones that do have it all and wanted something super technical...still there but today a lot of speculation and hype with the RM11/35/55 driving the investor side.

Haha yes - walked by it on my way to the office yesterday. Apparently it's open.

Still perplexed as to how they chose Boston.

How they chose to open any boutique as they never have any models 90% people want to see/buy...

I can see how it’s possible to accumulate the funds to purchase an RM or two without being born rich.

Not everyone out there has debts. Some are fortunate enough to have invested heavily in real estate which generates substantial rental income, crypto currencies at the right time, stocks which pay handsome dividends and still have their day jobs. Compound this with the fact they bought numerous stainless steel sports watches before the hype and decided to downsize their watch collection to less yet more “impactful” pieces.

By the way I don’t have any RM watches in my collection. I simply don’t find them attractive.

I believe there are two boutiques in Miami. One in Bal Harbour; and the other in Brickell, which is part of Westime.

I feel like this style is representative of the buyer pool for RM. Not saying good or bad, just saying...

Regarding how people purchase, I think everyone buys ‘how’ they see fit individually. Too many variables to give a canned response.

In the Greek system, this was called “double lettering”.

Punishment varied by house, but it was always humiliating...

Not sure there is an answer to this question, but as someone who has always loved watches - Timex and Casio as a kid - and has worked tirelelessly to earn a nice living, my watch fascination has continued to grow - Tag/Breitling - Rolex - AP - PP - now RM - I love them all and own them all. But RM after years of “not getting it” are now very intriguing to me- especially after trying in hand. I guess like everything else, it must be experienced in hand. So, in my case - answer to your question - lots of hard - and smart - work. But I still love my Tags and Timexes too....

You’d have to be nuts to finance a watch or super car purchase even though I’m sure there are those that do. IMO, you either can or you can’t. Those that can are usually

Entrepreneurs that just sold their company
Business owners
Senior level executives
Athletes
Inheritance
Commit crimes

I am exaggerating but where I live many supercar drivers are young kids from massively large families that entered the country a while ago ... and are still collecting and living on state support officially. Some friend or remote relative owns the vehicle. Guess to which category of the above they belong...
