Oris Watches

What do people think of Oris Watches. I have been looking at them on eBay and I quite fancy one but not sure about how good or desirable they are.
The new blue one they have out looked nice and that’s what prompted me to look on eBay.
All opinions welcome.

Does it matter if they are desirable. If you like them then go for it. I have 2, a moon phase complication and a aquis. Both lovely. And actually the moon phase was my first automatic watch with a display case back.. Both have been faultless.

Depends on the model for me, but then that is true of any brand. I have an Oris Diver 65 Topper Edition and really like it. They aren’t going to go up in value by any means, but Oris makes a solid watch. I’d say go for it if one caught your eye.

I have the Artelier Complications and it is good. Works well, gets remarked on and is comfortable on the wrist.

Plus it is fairly local to me - I took my watch to the factory for a service and to get the white dial changed to black, which they did; but it made the face so much more legible that it was the CHF250 or so I paid.

I am looking at the Brashear special, a bronze divers as an addition.

I wouldnt mind getting the blue diver with the arabics. I'm not a fan of a lot of their other lines, and know they won't hold up their value, but for what it is looks nice.

The current Oris watches are well-regarded. My understanding is that many years ago there were some serious QC issues.

I have an original divers 65 and love it. As far as Oris’s desirability, well I suspect that is very subjective. They are by no means scarce and will not hold their value as well as many other brands, but they are good watches and I’ve enjoyed owning mine.

I have a couple Oris watches, they are well made and reliable. They Don't hold any resale value, but if you're buying because you like the watch then go for it.

I bought one in nice in 95. It's been flawless and survives 8 years of wide usage. The 65 is a stellar value

Just picked up my first Oris and I have to say I absolutely love it. I was very surprised how light it was given the size. Fits like a glove on the wrist

They have put out some great LE dive watches recently. They definitely seem to be on an upward curve.

Oris makes a great watch for the money. If you like it, you won't go wrong getting it.

I just purchased a Oris Aquis GMT (not yet released as of this date). I have several Oris watches and I like the brand. They have a good price point and while not as accurate as my Rolex and now Tudor they are well within my needs.

For whatever my opinion is worth to you.

I bought an Oris Divers 65 around 2 years ago from an AD and secured a discount of approx 20%, against listed price. Very retro looking watch, domed sapphire, great lume and comfortable on a tropic strap. Keeps good time, c+5spd, although it did have to go in for repair recently due to a grinding noise whilst winding.

The crown stem also has some play in it, so does the bezel. Overall a nice watch, and good value.

That’s useful to know what amount of discount to expect. I love the blue dial oris dive watches. Haven’t picked one up yet but one may be in my future. Anyone have experience with the depth complication? That sounds incredibly useful in a dive watch - would love to know how it performs and how the depth ratings compare to a dive computer.

Oris Watches

I had one years ago when I was a teenager. I couldn’t afford a Rolex so I had to make due. It was a solid watch. I ended up leaving it in the center console of a car I traded in. I went back to the dealership an hour later and poof it was gone without a trace. I’ve been looking at picking up another one on the used market for a deal.

I love the watch, has been my daily since I got it almost a week ago. It's my third Oris this year from my local AD. Yes, I did get a discount but I do buy a lot of watches from this AD.

The Oris Big Crown in red dial is really awesome. If you see one person, you will see how beautiful it is
