PP 5205 or Saxonia AC

I am seeking help here to decide between PP 5205 or Saxonia AC. I have been thinking of getting annual calendar for a while and recently got chance to try both. I liked both of these on my wrist and now I am even more confused. I am open to another model if it has any technical superiority over these. I will appreciate any help! Thanks in advance!

Both really good timepieces! I'd personally go with the PP though. I guess it's a piece you won't regret having in the collection. Can't say the same for the Saxonia imo. The PP is also more versatile as you can dress it down more easily than the Saxonia.

Thanks for the recommendations so far. I should mention that I do have 5227J in my collection. I do not have any ALS watch. Will you guys change your choice based on it?

5205 in that dark blue dial is sublime. I only wish the calendar windows had a matching color to the dial.

since you have the PP i'd go ALS, otherwise i'd go Patek.
but those are very similar. if it were me i'd go grand lange 1.

Strengths of both watches:

5205
- month and date are more legible on the apertures
- the lugs are pierced and scalloped
- more affordable than Saxonia AC

Saxonia AC
- big date
- slimmer case than 5205 (it has a highly decorated semi-micro rotor)

I chose the 5205 blue because of the dial. The sun-burst gradient vignette effect is stunning.

If you have no PPs I'd get the 5205, otherwise the Lange, can't go wrong here.

The Saxonia AC. It's more beautiful, no matter which side you're looking at

Thanks for the details. I was thinking of getting a non-blue dial because I have VCO blue but then I looked at your profile and figured that one can't have enough of them.

The 5205R is beautiful (both dials). I highly recommend both R on the merit of the case and lug construction alone.

Maybe it will help if you can compare both 5205 and Saxonia AC side-by-side in your hand.

Based on looks I'd go 5205 as the Saxonia AC looks a little like a relic from bygone times in my eyes. I'd much rather own a 3940 PC than any AC though.

Both wonderful watches. I'd go 5205 personally.

Good luck with the decision.
