I own the black dial, but if I could have only ever tried on the white I wouldn't have wanted this watch - YMMV of course, so best to try both before settling. |

I have kind of gotten that feeling just from pics — I’m just partial to the black dial I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thank you for all the reply. Which model retains more value?

I don't think there is too much in it - it may also vary geographically.
Other factors such as condition, age etc.. will have a bigger impact on price I would expect. Plus, on a watch with this type of price tag, a few hundred $ difference on retained value shouldn't dictate the purchase either way. Try them both on, and get the one you like the most |

Yes -15703 — I - series (2015) right before they started putting the clear casebacks. I prefer the dial on this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I personally love the diver, but I feel that it might not be the best watch for the kitchen. Any steel AP will scratch very easily/frequently in that kind of environment. But if you are prepared for that, then go for it! If not, go for a rolex with a ceramic bezel (sub, GMT, etc). my Sub is my everyday watch and over the years it has worn its scratches better than any other watch I've had!

I was going back and forth between these two watches last year. I already have a 15400RG so decided on the Diver. Have regretted since day one. My taste has also changed, don't like the heaver, larger (thicker) watches anymore. The diver, in my opinion, is not a great watch when using your hands and bending your wrist. Now I am looking to move it for a 15400 SS or ROC

I havent read the entire thread however caught the choices and that you work in the kitchen. Man, honestly I firmly believe that watches are for wearing however neither of the 15710st or 15400 are good choices !! Maybe a ceramic perhaps ... Stick with the Rolex as I have come to realize that they really are the ultimate "beater" every day watch... Minus the PCL of course.
Let us know what you decide or end up doing P.S ~ I have both and personally love the diver and enjoy it a little more. So much so that I got the CE version and may get a white dial one ? Thinking that is way to much AP overkill of the same style though. |
