Vintage Rolex Auction

A major auction is happening in Manila, Philippines this Sunday and i was invited for a personal viewing.

My interest are on the vintage Rolex sport watches. The most notable are the 6265 PN Daytona, 6265 18k Daytona with box and papers, 6265 Daytona Stainless and the 5512 Submariner square square guard with box and papers.

I personally will bid on the 6265 PN, 6265 steel, 1665 DRSD mkll tropical dial and the 1675 GMT gilt with chapter ring and exclamation dial.

A class picture of the watches i viewed.

I am also attaching pictures from the catalogue

That PN 6263 will be a nice pickup. It's sure to appreciate rapidly over the coming years and would be a good investment.

Vintage Rolex Auction

My $300k bid was not good enough for the PN 6263 which sold at $435k including buyer's premium.

That's what you get for being cheap.

Wow nice pieces & nothing to be embaressed about with a $300k bid thats for sure ,i can only imagine what the rooms gonna be like at the actual Paul Newman watch auction in a few weeks ,it's gonna climb by the $million you gotta bring some serious game to the table to be in that room .

Are they hard to come by in the Philippines? That's a big number for not a full set... Nice piece but...

Yes its quite a bit on the high. The 6542 is more plentiful here than the early 1675 gilt.
