Some ID help, please! Speedking?

This looks like a '40s Speedking to me. But while it says "self winding" on the dial, the movement doesn't appear to be self-winding. (But I'm no expert on that.) Any sage commentary (or any at all, really) would be helpful.

I think self winding means exactly that, you have to wind it yourself.

the dial has likely been redone by looking at a different model.

It is a manual wind movement.

It hasn't likely been redone....it HAS been redone. :-)


Fairly early. Looks like a no reference number case. 30's VERY early 40's. Single screw underneath on the cap jewel for the upper escape wheel jewel. Sapphire end stones.

Possibly a solid arm super balance?

And badly redone, too. I met the seller this afternoon and had a look. That's one wiggly crown.
