Rolex 5100
I own a 5100. The Quartz movement is broken. Rest of inside perfect. Unfortunately nobody can get spares and watch has to be sent to Geneva. Cost to get it there and back is expensive and cost of repairs unknown till seen by Rolex in Geneva. Surely Rolex Geneva will supply parts to watch makers if requested. Or am I stuck ?

Id have a hard time believing there are too many beta quartz movement parts lying around. Im guessing Geneve might be your only option in this case.

If they still have any left in stock they'll probably just stick a new movement in there and charge you a fortune.

That's the problem. They will charge a small fortune, and I'm surprised rolex won't let anybody but Geneva touch these watches

there were so few of those made. I think they are amazing, but the mechanism requires regular service - and Rolex has gotten really restrictive on that.
I own an early 9630 Midas - and the authorized Rolex guy in SF couldn't even get parts sent to him...had to be shipped to their main location in the US...cost almost $2K. |
